James Crumbley, the father of Ethan Crumbley, the perpetrator of the 2021 Oxford High School shooting, is set to stand trial on four counts of involuntary manslaughter. The trial comes on the heels of his wife, Jennifer Crumbley, being found guilty of the same charges just weeks earlier. Ethan Crumbley, their son, was responsible for the tragic shooting that claimed the lives of four students and left several others wounded. The incident shocked the community and raised questions about the role of parents in such cases. Jury selection for James Crumbley’s trial is expected to commence this week.

  1. It's about time parents are held responsible and not pay attention to their children warning signs and mental issues that own guns. The Columbine parents should have probably been charged too, to help stop all the following school shootings that came next

  2. I hope James Crumbley is found innocent. James and Ethan were victims of Jennifer Crumbley imo, . Jennifer was the adulterer, liar, cheater, abuser. James and Ethan were her victims.

  3. There’s nothing worse than people that comment on trials that know nothing about what they’re talking about. If you haven’t listened to the evidence in these hearings and don’t even know the difference between involuntary manslaughter and murder, keep your wrong opinions to yourself.

  4. If Ethan had texted "I love you" right around or close to the time of when he unfortunately committed this mass shooting, then it's a wonder if the reason that he used such choice of words over a guilt trip-based message… was because he at least something of understood why she ignored the concept of providing him with medical help, that said… perhaps Ethan at least subconciously knew that he didn't effectively communicate his issues/problems to his paremts as good as he could have. And lastly, although I'm unsure of gun laws… if the gun Ethan used to commit a mass murder was stored inside of his parent's bedroom, then it seems rightful to consider them (or at least one parent such as James) as the official possesers of this weapon… as opposed to being based on Ethan's exclusive part time privileges at the shooting range.

  5. Congratulations folks, we have now set the precedent that it is safer to abort before the child is born, just in case they do something insane. its really not seeming like its worth the risk, especially not with the economy being the way it is. Most of the same people who support this outcome being anti abortion is the most ironic part of that. any chance of saving the nuclear family went out the window with this one.

  6. I'm so glad the parents have been held accountable . How many more mass shootings were due to parents' neglet ??

Underage kids dont have the means to purchase guns , so most likely, they would have the parents' involvement. They also are responsible for storing and securing them at all times , which some are failing miserably. So it's only right , that prosecution goe after irresponsible parents.

It may send a message to others to prevent some deaths in future

  7. It is very sad that we are living in a society where families are losing on all accounts. Family no more due to death and due to prison. Life sentences to children. As a society it is sad that 15, 16, 17 yr olds can't be rehabilitated. I get that they must do the time, but it really saddens me.

  8. If you leave your car keys on the table and your kid drives it on the sidewalk killing pedestrians are you now guilty?

  9. People, PLEASE stop medicating your kids with your medication and thinking you know what you’re doing or what the outcome will be. Everything from milligram dosage to rx instructions varies HEAVILY based on a VARIETY of factors. Obviously kinda beside the point at this point but still had to say it..

  10. I love how you have Rittenhouse, an innocent man who was found innocent by a jury of his peers (and anyone with two unclouded eyes) is used for your opening.
