It seems he didn't need to.
How the F is even Alec there? He should be free. Its not a actors fault if the people behind the set made that mistake. It was not Alec who made the pistol, it was not Alec who put gunpowder in the gun. If someone should take the blame its people who made the gun rdy for him to use on the set. This must be the easiest case ever.
Baldwin's defence he is a actor and takes no responsibility whatsoever. We should all ignore he failed to comply with weapon safety procedures. He failed to check a real gun. He pointed the gun, cocked the hammer and pulled the trigger.
He would be insane to get on the stand, but he’s just narcissistic enough to think he’s smarter than the prosecutor.
Maybe he was set up by beetlejuice.

It was a rehearsal, the gun needed NO ammunition of ANY kind!
Should be treated exactly like an ORDINARY person, Hollywood stars should NOT get a free pass!
Simple rule I understood always assume a gun is loaded.
If Hannah Gutierrez had done her job properly, Halyna would be alive, period, could've happened to other actor, like it happened to Alec.

ben chew is a mediocre lawyer and this interview showed it.
The fact that he even questions if there was live ammo in the gun means that a) he didn't check it and b) nor was responsible enough as a producer on the film to make sure there wasn't.
Why is he getting charged with manslaughter when it was a workplace accident?
If an excavator operators swings the excavator around and hits a laborer by accident that That is an unfortunate workplace place accident

Alec was shooting blanks directly at people on this film set. He was very wreckless handling his gun.

Johnny Depp trial was a different situation period! Alec Baldwin is guilty for his part in the Rust Shooting period, Alec pulled the trigger or touched it somehow for the gun to go off. A gun just doesn’t go off by itself.
I think there’s no one person to blame, it was a bunch of faults. It’s a weird case because of that. If just one person were at fault, the case would be easy.
I think Baldwin has fully cooked himself. Studios don't want him, other actors don't want him and the general public is a mixed bag. Basic to firearms, don't point at anything you don't intended to destroy, loaded or not. They were too cheap to use specially made non real model guns.
STOP using Johnny’s name in every topic ben chew discusses. LEAVE JOHNNY ALONE. It’s about time you start calling him as Ben Chew.

Balwin is guilty and a hot head, Johnny was innocent and such a gentle soul! That’s why Johnny’s testimony worked! Alec taking the stand would put him down for sure, not that not testifying would save him either
This is a Criminal trial not a Civil case over money . And it could be argued Depp never should've taken the stand in his UK trial, let alone taken the case to court. He'd still have a career if he didn't.

Baldwin is such an absolute blow hard. He’s a liar and an old entitled famous guy that’s trying to talk himself out of culpability. Can’t wait until he’s no longer talked about so often.
You never point a gun at someone you always treat a gun if it is loaded for this reason he is at fault.
