  1. Once upon a time, back in the 90’s and earlier, police used the t handled solid night sticks. While those weapons were sometimes abused? It also diffused a lot of deadly situations. The lady with the knife could’ve been disarmed with a good knight stick for sure and no one had to be shot.

  2. It is my opinion that officer safety should always be at best a secondary concern. The constitution should be the primary concern. If officer safety was the most important thing they these officers would spend their patrols in padded rooms snide underground compounds.

  3. In the situation with the 81 woman…if she doesn't want to interact with the police why not just leave and call social services? There was obviously no one being murdered. When they saw she was alive and uninjured, and have no reasonable suspicion that she or anyone else is in danger, their job is done. How many times does this have to happen before cops realize they aren't psychologists or social workers?

  4. I've argued for years that police should have to intern as wildlife conservation officers for at least a year upon graduating from their training academy. Why? Conservation officers are almost always alone, in remote areas, and nearly everyone they come in contact with is armed. This would condition them not to soil themselves every time they see a gun.

  5. It's dark outside, cops are wearing dark clothes, they are creeping around the wrong house, they never even announce themselves….
And it's "Unreasonable" for the homeowner to assume it could be criminals……
How in the world are people are to know it's cops….
Plus, dispatch could have called the home they sent the cops to…..
    Cops are just stupid

  6. It was none of the officers business what was in the woman's hand. She was in her own home and obviously had some type of mental health problem. If this officer couldn't defend himself from an 81 year old woman with a small kitchen knife he needs to find a different job.

Once the officer realized no crime was being committed he should have left the premises and reported that the elderly woman needed to be referred to the county mental health department.

  7. This was heartbreaking for that cop to shoot that old woman he wouldn’t let her close the door. He said he was there to help her. He’s a murderer. My condolences to your family.
