Karen Read Trial: 5 Controversial Moments in Cop Murder Case – Everything Law and Order Blog

The trial of Karen Read in Massachusetts has been one of the most divisive in recent memory. Read claims she’s being framed for the murder of her boyfriend, Boston Police officer John O’Keefe. But the Commonwealth says Read was driving drunk when she backed her SUV into O’Keefe during a blizzard in January 2022. Law&Crime’s Angenette Levy details some of the things that have divided people most during the testimony of first responders in this episode of Crime Fix — a daily show covering the biggest stories in crime.

  1. Damn Chloe the dog is like damn wtf did I do lol. This whole case is crazy. Tbh the conflict of interest in this case by the police is crazy. There should of been other counties police to investigate and trial this

  2. If she was such a crazy drunk and went into reverse and hit him with her car why wouldn’t all his cop friends come out and see what happened or help him out

  3. Mass State Police trooper Vile Proctor and his buddies on his chat are a disgrace to the People of Massachusetts. Reasonable doubt all over the place throughout trial.

  4. Yanetti already came out and said regarding KR’s actions “this was just a terrible accident”. KR also admitted hitting him.
So is everybody supposed to forget that and be distracted with complaints about all the cops in town?

  5. So Brian a. Is Jen McCabes brother n law and when they show her phone call record calling her sister Nicole that morning which is listed under "coco" in her contacts i noticed it said" Uncle Brian a" like wth

  6. Is that guy taking notes on yellow legal pad FBI? Could be attorney for one of upcoming witnesses but or O Keefe’s family but I’m sure FBI is watching closely!

  7. Karen had a "cracked" light, not SHATTERED and RIPPED from the entire casing. Day 19 of testimony tomorrow, I wonder how you're feeling about the case now?

  8. The defendent has money and people nowadays love conspiracy theories instead of commin sense. The boogieman killed the guy and left him at the scene to frame Karen. Trials are not about Truth. This is ridiculous.

  9. I feel like a non guilty person wouldn't say is he dead ? instead they would say, is he alive? Or is he going to live? Or is he okay? Or even is he going to be okay? Why say "is he dead" so many times.

  10. She is definitely being framed. Thus far, I haven’t seen anything that proves she did it. A lot of people drove in and out of that house. I think one of the kids did it, and the father covered it up with his police boys.

  11. Why is John's Mother allowed to nod no so many time. It is so obvious she thinks Karen is guilty. She may be effecting the jury. I do not think it is fair.

  12. Hard to know the truth Because the police were awful top to bottom She probably killed him but will get away with it due to awful police work

  13. I've never seen so many people on the stand turn red. either their cheeks or neck or both…could it be a indication of lying??? being uncomfortable??? I never seen so many turn red from the cops to the paramedics!

  14. It's not uncommon for a person whom has endured abuse, albeit physical and/or psychological, to readily admit fault without properly assessing the situation. In an automatic panic where the prefrontal cortex is disconnected from the amygdala during flight or fight ( the part of your brain that plans the grocery list is shut off to preserve energy for functions of the body currently needed to survive i.e. coming face to face with a lioness). Her statements right after the situation should not be the primary focus, especially since she too, is just processing the situation. Which in hindsight, if one were to focus on her statement as proof, her behavior would be consistent with someone who's innocent, as had she committed planned murder, I doubt she would be saying anything or even reacting that way.

  15. What is the motive of these people that are claimed to have covered it up? Why would they kill John? I don’t get the motive.

  16. Almost every witness testimony so far is falling apart on cross. Shady, shady, shady!!! Residents of Canton MA should be more than concerned about their LE and first responders. Not very trustworthy from what I've seen. Unless the Commonwealth has something substantial that holds up in cross exam, there is no way a jury could find guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

  17. If she is shouting I hit him,it’s pretty obvious she run him over, that was an ambulance man saying that not a policeman, there’s no cover up,she is looking way to confident and smug for someone who is innocent and taking on the police ,she is lovin this,I smell a narc

  18. Her story is absurd she killed him. Citizens sick and tired of criminals, defense attorneys, using "bipolar," "police conspiracy," "bad childhood," as excuses for evil.
