Even if he was found insane instead of guilty, his fate would have been the same: locked up and going nowhere. The insanity defense doesn't let people off. Sometimes, it's even worse than regular prison. Perhaps he was lucky to be found guilty.

If he had such recorded mental health problems, why was the little girl living with him to begin with?!?! Throughout the trial until the guilty conviction, he was smiling a kind of creepy grin like he thought he was going to get away with murder. But when he was convicted, that grin went and he had a look on his face that said it all, guilty and caught outright.
