Matthew Shelton, a teacher at Robert Semple Elementary School in Benicia, California, faces multiple charges. At the same time, the families of multiple former students have filed lawsuits against Shelton and the school district. Shelton was arrested and tried for similar charges in another county but returned to teaching when a jury acquitted him. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber digs into how Shelton was allowed back on the job with trial attorney Ashley Hadler.

Wow it’s not a female teacher abusing today. Literally every day there’s another teacher abusing students. Something has to be done. There needs to be zero tolerance for electronic communication between teachers and student. They should go thru parents to communicate outside the class. That’s just a start.
