11. I drove from Texas to az with my 4, 6 and 10 year old by myself. I didn't ever stop at rest stops. Only at gas stations and it was quick. I take my kids to the restroom then gas up and kept my tank full. Thank goodness they slept most of the way.

16. Sooo Wierd!!! My husband & I, JUST, went on a Mini Camoing Vaca,in our R.V. Made Zero reservations,came into one small town,No Power in town,whatsoever, found an RV Park,had a QR Code reservation thingamajig, No Power, = No Cell Service,…went to the Very Next small Town,also ZERO POWER,😢😮,my husband Finally states,we've arrived at yet Another Small town 26:31 ,& Zero, Power,but This is The Town,his boyhood friend recommended, No Power,can't find an R.V.area, THEN he tells me,We have 20 Miles worth diesel, left in our Truck,towing a 36ft,5th wheel 😮, im Not Happy,made him Go back to 1st town,after a person told us the 1st town had a gas Station with a Generator & we could get diesel there! ⛽ we wound up,in a vacant,paved lit,Behind Safeway ,With a Full Tank, and prayed the local Sheriff 🙏🏾 wouldn't kick us out. Next Day,we were able to get into an R.V. Park,the Owners/ managers were VERYYY helpful ❤😅..We had driven into Town,during a Lightening Storm,apparently The Power Grid,is ALL Connected fir miles to many towns. The Local P.U.D., came together with relief companies,aka,Mutual Aid,came together ❤ 🎉 to restore power 🔋 💪🏾 ✨ 💖 We had such a Great time at This R.V.Park!!! Veryyyy Clean,beautiful 😎, All the Amenities, no pool,but it had River Front, & i was able to explore with our dog! But & however, by the 4th day, my honey was under the weather,we Stayed in,& i nursed him& we were soo quiet,Suddenly a man,parked next to us,started Yelling,& Cursing 🤬, sooo,of Course, I transformed into " "Gladys Cravits",& did The Crack Head Peek,out our kitchen blinds,saw this Well dressed,& groomed man,yelling & swearing,on his phone, he had a Nice truck 🛻 & Trailer , but he was Disturbed! No consideration for The Families with small children. I called office,left message. Locked us indoors,Finally, he gos to leave,so i wait until clear,creep outside, only to see a female,seemingly following, i needed water from our Cooler,then i look up,as i hear a noise, & they had Just damaged another units water pipe, Water shooting across the parking lot. I decide to gi to the office to let them know,but the Man & woman,were NOT GONE,so i quickly photo their seperate vehicles with tags,& out comes 1 manager,i tell him,then Another manager runs out,asks if i have photos of the People in question,and i affirmed,she Stops the female at the exit,Yelling for them to STOP & pay for damages,…THEN,she tells them,That Lady Over There Has VIDEO of You 2!!!! Thats All she had to say,I GOT THE HECK OUT OF THERE!!! went Rapidly Back to My R.V.,& in an indirect path,i snuckeded ( thats a tru way if saying it) Back,quietly,got inside,LOCKED THE DOOR,& Coward inside,until the managers hired the heavy equipment to fix the pipe! Oh,sorry,forgot to mention,when the yelling started at R.V. exit,when the guy & gal were TRYIN to skirt out, i was concerned,due to The Mans previous actions,so, Yep,I, called the Sheriff!!! I told dispatch, Im Scared,the Man is Disturbed & Veryyyy agitated, please send help!!! 🙏🏾 And They Did!! The Police And The Sheriff & they came Right Into the Property❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 #soograteful

19. These days, with so many addicts looking for easy targets so they can get their next fix, it's scarier than ever for anyone, but especially elderly couples, travelling alone. People need to travel in groups now, so much safer.

20. Similar situation happened here in Canada, back in 2010. Elderly couple, Lyle and Marie McCann, travelling in their RV from Alberta, headed to B.C., and go missing. Motorhome was found completely burned, SUV that they were towing wasn't located. The primary suspect was soon identified and finally convicted later, but the bodies of the couple have never been found and the creep responsible (Travis Vader) doesn't have the decency of giving up the bodies for the family, even after being given a life sentence for their murders. EVIL to the bone. The REAL judgement awaits him and I hope it comes ten-fold.

26. I live in Australia & realise there are many ways a person can be murdered as in this tragic case.

    I know there’s probably a low chance of running into a psychopath in “normal” traveling situations BUT I have to admit, I talked my son out of his idea of driving his young family across America.

    Even though this did not involve a gun, it worries me more, the number of owners who own a gun & the number of guns a person can own.

    I do believe, most folks are responsible gun owners it’s justAustralians don’t carry guns & don’t understand a gun culture. I’m so sorry to this lovely couple 🥲.

    My son instead opted for the north island of New Zealand.

Ive traveled over 30k miles over 3 years in an RV, I have had incidents or locations where I felt uneasy or more alert when sleeping, only one time was I in immediate risk that I had to pull off quickly. I would still go out again, but I regularly mitigate risk, I will wake up if I hear a car and I always check to see the model and color to keep an eye if I see it again or often.

34. When I camped at the Grand Canyon earlier this year. I slept with my 9 mm in my sweater front pocket and my machete by my leg. I had my children and was not about to let my guard down.

40. My brother just retired and he and his wife are setting out in about a month to rv across the south for the winter. I’m so worried. I begged him to carry a firearm, he’s not planning on it.
