In this episode of Crime Watch Daily Updates: The disappearance of chef and U.S. Marine veteran Douglas Calhoun. He was last seen May 31, 2017, and mysteriously didn’t show up to some paid catering gigs. He even missed a flight to St. Louis to cater a wedding. Family and friends grew worried and reported him missing.
Investigators learned that on June 1, 2017, Doug went to a home in Detroit’s Brightmoor neighborhood where he reportedly paid a woman who he contacted on Backpage.com for sex. When he asked to have sex without a condom, the woman, who was 17 years old, refused. The two started arguing, and the girl’s boyfriend, Travun Baskerville, came in and shot Chef Doug.
The woman ultimately led police to a vacant garage where she and Baskerville left Doug’s body in a trash can. He was found July 7, 2017 — 37 days after he was killed.
The 17-year-old also told police that Baskerville forced her into sex work starting when she was 16.
The Wayne County Prosecutor charged Baskerville September 1, 2017, with murder and human trafficking-related crimes. He was convicted in July 2018 and sentenced a month later to 120 years in prison.

Douglas got what he deserved assuming he knew the girl was underaged. The trafficker deserves death too.
I believe this former Marine knew what was going on. He made an act where the escort refused the service and wanted the money back. Chef Doug's intentions was to walk out and call police that there is a prostitution ring in this location. This was the motive that Travun Baskerville killed Calhoun, silencing him from getting exposed. Chef knew he was a pimp and was about to tell the authorities. Now the girl will live in hiding in fear that Baskerville might have his gang-ties to hunt her down.

Here are my thoughts about this case: I’m glad Trayvon got what he deserved, but at the same time it’s kinda hard feeling bad for Chef Doug, because he way preying on an underage girl for sex, especially without a condom. He was definitely a creepy predator, and his sister deep down knows her brother is a predator, just projecting her anger out on the under mage girl. She basically was victim blaming. Not all girls have choices in their life. They just choose the easy way.
For anyone wondering, I'm pretty sure the reason her boyfriend only got human trafficking and not an additional charge for sex with a minor etc is because I'm pretty sure the age of consent is 16 there. Not that it makes any of this right. Not that it makes the killing right or what Doug himself did right.
There is a lot messed up about this story, but ultimately I hope this young girl gets to heal and live a life less scary. And I hope Doug's family gets what they need too.
This tragedy helped set that girl free.

Most states the legal age of consent is 16 I believe the young girl lied about what happened I due believe she performed oral sex and then the boyfriend came out the room to rob him but he realized he would not have won so he shot him and back page you have to be 21 so again she lied about her age and what they did was probably not the first time they have robbed someone after giving service a sad case all around

The sister of chief Doug is unreasonable, because her brother didn’t deserve to die like that no human should, but he was the one paying for sex with a 17 year old. The twist is the girl might have been his daughter and he when there to provide for her and the boy friend came to rob him and he shoot him and they both hid the body, do a DNA test on her and him.
