A Minnesota man faces a murder charge after allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend just 11 days after he was released from jail for assaulting her. Prosecutors allege Matthew Brenneman murdered Danicka Bergeson at her apartment and wrapped her body in blankets. When police arrived, they observed Brenneman chugging bleach and convulsing in the bathroom. The Law&Crime Network’s Jesse Weber breaks down the disturbing case with Bergeson’s father.

  1. I am so proud of my momma! She saved me and my siblings (and her own) life by feeling from my father when she did. It’s been 25 years and he never found us!! The system failed us so many times. It took ONE judge have pitty and sympathy for us to protect us from my father. The judge changed our names and helped us erase our history… We got a second chance that day and I wish I knew who he was so I could thank him for all he did. My father never changed and he died in 2022 from an OD. RIP to this beautiful angel. She deserved so much more!!!

  2. This is why it is so important for domestic violence victims too.Get out of the situation and do not go back and try everything to protect themselves! Don't think that your partner wouldn't do something as serious as murder…

  3. One of the big problems with our justice system is people are not scared of jail, some people may even want to go… jail is to soft and free life is to difficult. Jail could be just cold concrete and steal. Then the taxpayers could be more likely to have comfortable, safe places instead of some cold dangerous sidewalk which often times is the case.

  4. I am a survivor of domestic violence. During the first court hearing, the judge looked at me and said "miss you need to learn to get along better". That is SO dangerous to say to a victim.

  5. Leave these females alone smh , it’s no reason to put hands on a female. Keep it pushing, women gotta start thinking with their heads instead of their hearts! Stop trying to fix men!

  6. The highest likelihood in predicting future benavior is look at the past behavior of the individual. He should not have bern realrased. Was his phone linked to hers in l their locater app. ? An oversight? Or did he plug in the apt complex name figuring shed be there or seeing something on facebook. Restraining orders are a piece of paper stalkers and dv offenders are dangerous cowards . Usually they stalk alot before its realized then get a joy outta getting away with it and their gaslighting others enpowers them. These sickos meed to be seriously stopped . Sad.

  7. Hes obviously a dangerous man. Poor Tameka probably thought she could save him. Terrible outcome and too common. God has her now and i shes never suffering again for sure. One day youll see her again. Frightening and sickening case. Im so sorry for your horrific loss. Tameka should have been able to continue to geow and acheive . Sad.

  8. What did they think was going to happen? Legislators have a lot of blood on their hands over the years, how do they sleep at night.
The so-called law is about conviction NEVER protection.R.I.P.

  9. Why I love this channel.
Here True Crime isn't "entertainment". Even though Jesse's a lawyer, he shows real empathy for the victim's families. I'm always impressed by that. Then, giving them a platform like this to bring awareness to a VERY serious issue, like Jesse said, something that NEVER should have happened is so important.
Kudos to him for coming on here and being brave and using her memory to affect a positive change.

  10. This what happens when you take away a man’s entire life and crush his dreams. I’m not condoning it, I’m just saying that’s the reason it happens. I never I understood it before, but since I was cheated and left for another, and have lost my home, my family, and all the dreams I had for our lives, I understand the mentality. When you have nothing left to lose and one person is responsible for it, you want revenge.
