I’m sorry but comparing messing up as a doctor vs messing up as a police officer are just not on the same plane. Saying “we don’t cuff doctors yet police are being charged for crimes!” Well yes… because doctors are trying to save lives and sometimes the body dies anyway. With a police officer being too trigger happy in someone’s home, that just isn’t a case of natural death occurring despite best efforts to prevent it…. And as for it being racially charged, it’s not as simple to say “is it cuz he’s white and she’s black?” There’s a lengthy history, and it isn’t so simple as saying “he was a racist and shot her cuz she’s black.” But rather, the subtleties of systemic racism that could cause an officer to be quick on the draw at seeing a black person when looking for “a suspicious break in.” Because if he turned the corner and saw a pretty young white girl standing in a kitchen, would he have instinctively shot her immediately, simply because “well he was looking for suspicious characters in lieu of a possible break in”? And do take the time to learn the numbers! That’s the important part of journalism is the research. Those numbers are so essential when having a talk speculating about a tense case like this. Just my two cents, that being said, I truly appreciate this show and the discussions raised!

My sister and her daughter are both PHD Midwives, and would never put themselves or a baby in that position. 🙄

Shooting : power blind them, and they do nonsense. Hitler was friend with Stalin and together they invaded Poland. Suddenly he decided to fight with URSS. Midwife : they decided not to bring the baby ti the hospital , that could be negligence, but it will be a political nightmare. The parents knew what they are doing , and according to the law the baby is not human or even a life.
It could be to avoid tainting the jury. If you have a ironclad case you don’t want to let it fail based on a technicality.
If she had shot him a police officer family even though he didn't announce himself then she'd have been convicted of a far worse crime and likely been in prison for the rest of her life!!!
I've always thought a midwife doesn't have a nurse license nor a nurse practitioner, I would never use a midwife for that reason, however people who use them aren't looking for a medical person or they wouldn't be called a midwife they'd be called nurse practitioners

How can They not believe he intended to murder and not believe he was defending himself at the same time when someone ended up shot to death by him ? Funny how When a cop says he feared for his life someone always ends up murdered and that's always been their license to kill with no accountability even after being caught lying

Listening with great interest from Canada. I just can't seem to get enough of True Crime Daily. I really enjoy the Sidebar episodes. I know you wanted questions via Twitter, but I don't use it. So I was wondering, in a future episode(s), if you could explain the federal court system. I know cameras are not allowed and reporters cannot bring in recording devices into the courtroom. Why do some clients not go to jail after sentencing (Elizabeth Holmes, Sunny Balwani) and others do (Ghislaine Maxwell, Josh Duggar)? Thanks in advance.

I disagree with the comparison between the murders of Breonna Taylor and Atatiana Jefferson. The death of Breonna Taylor was the result of not 1, not 2, not even 3 mistakes but SEVERAL, all of which could have been prevented. The lack of training in both cases, absolutely, but if information had never been falsified on the search warrant, Breonna would most likely be here today. All too common corruption and incompetence. If all police officers knew they may be tried on the count of 1st or 2nd degree murder, they might think twice about behaving recklessly. Like Vinnie said, when police officers make "mistakes", people die.
Aaron Dean… He should get life!! He gave her absolutely no time to comply to his two commands before he fired his gun and killed her!! I heard the audio from their cams, he gave her 0 time to comply. There was no self defence in this case for him! He killed her in cold blood!
As someone who was a breech baby that wasn’t able to be turned because of her mom not having enough room for long legs, PLEASE get a c-section. My mom chose to get one anyways but because I was breech they tried to turn me and that caused my mom to be in pain.

The cop should get time,. More then 2 years,. Why the hell would you call the cops on someone because a door was open, that's 1,. and 2 why would the cop just shoot through a window without any idea of what's going on,. It's reckless and he should never be a cop again,. Another issue is why they didn't announce themselves as the police,. That's sketchy,.

i’m highly upset with the guest, he really had no idea wtf he’s talking about. the comparison of the breonna taylor case saying niether party was guilty even though it’s known that they shot them and wasn’t even at the right house. they were supposed to be a couple doors down and trying to get somebody by sneaking in their house in the middle of the night is stupid. also with the other young lady she was in her own house and your creeping around outside you would expect her to be scared. Wtf happened to knocking on the door and when you saw her and announcing police. to just blindly shoot into someone’s house who never saw you is baffling to me. then he compared police shootings to medical and surgical deaths …. whatttt!

Black people should really never call the police or get the police involved in anything. Police make things go from bad to horribly worse. I can’t think of any situation where I would call the police. I made that mistake before and I will never, ever do that again.
The "midwife" and parents should all be in prison for the preventable death of that infant. They neglected to get proper medical care and their inaction cost that child their life. Court got it 1000% wrong.

It’s absurd to think that a woman assisting help on delivering a child would be found guilty to begin with!! Judge made the right sensible decision.

The missing factor is this is a round-robin laundering service. From FTX, to DemLibs, To Ukraine, to FTX. Everyone scratching each other's back EXACTLY EXPLAINS why he wasn't immediately arrested, why he did the talk circuit to BELIEVE ME tour. Why politicians tried to hide their bank accts.

Awful for that precious baby girl! Parents failed to protect their daughter by refusing proper medical care when there were complications. My 4 month old is here today in part because I had proper medical help through my complications.
