A New Mexico mom was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in her son’s death. Bruce Johnson Jr.’s father found him face down on his bed with a knife in his back after waking up to a commotion at their family home in July 2022. The 11-year-old was rushed to the hospital where he told police that his mom, Mary Johnson, stabbed him. Law&Crime’s Sierra Gillespie breaks down the horrific story.

I feel so bad and sorry for this family!!! I'm sorry no one would help!!! I'm sorry you were dismissed when you asked for help!!!! I cannot imagine being told "It's not illegal to be crazy!! How insensitive and inconsiderate of them!!! We need to bring back mental institutions!!!! This is happening too much!!!! People are being left to deal with this and not given any help until it escalates to someone getting hurt or killed!!!! Something needs to be done!!!!!

That child has been abused for years. Look how obese he is. She has never cared for that child a day in his life. It’s shocking to see abused obese children walking around in public. It’s despicable.

😟😣😮💨….this poor boy has been being abused BEFORE his mother did this. I'm heartbroken he experienced this on top of being mistreated and ultimately dying at his mother's hands. 😔 His father should have taken him and stayed hidden from her. So so sad 💜
