This was extremely close to home.. absolutely pathetic humans.
I lived in the north suburbs when this happened and when i tell you this shook the entire city and the suburbs.
I attended Marlen’s funeral. Her family and husband invited the community. I was able to pay my respects to her husband and then to her parents. I mentioned how beautiful she was to her husband and he took a breath in and with pride said “oooh, so very much (in Spanish but I’m translating)” and said Marlen wanted to be on tv one day but doubted whether she was pretty enough to make it on screen. He said she loved being a mom, was the best mom, and they were so excited for their second child to be born. Marlen’s dad was so broken but grateful for the folks who came to pay their respects. The mom couldn’t even stand, tears filled her face, and her family flanked her protectively. It was all so awful. I’ll never forget their beautiful spirits.

I really think Spanish should be given equal footing to English in the US. I wish I'd been immersed in Spanish in school, it's so common and a bilingual education & bilingual friendly society would only improve everyone's lives.

Is just really mind blowing that the doctors at the hospital didn't put two and two together they have this newborn baby that still has his placenta attached and the "mother" that has no signs of birth and is perfectly fine but yeah, nobody flags that as a red flag. nobody alerts authorities that day so that they could question her. Nobody does anything. Marlen would not have sat in that dumpster for three weeks had they did what they needed to do on the day that she brought that baby into the hospital that's why I don't go to Christ. Advocate hospital. They failed not only as doctors but as a safe space as well. It's sickening
This is so heartbreaking💔 I've stopped at her and her sons mural here in Chicago a couple times she and her baby were so beautiful it so heartbreaking she had to lose her and her baby's life to a crazy deranged woman😢💔

WTF is wrong with some people in this sick twisted world?! My husband recently passed away after 35 yrs together, since we were in high school, and we suffered with infertility before and after our miracle son was born at age 21, until I eventually had to have my entire reproductive system surgically removed. We desperately wanted to have another child and tried for over a decade & a half while enduring 12 heart wrenching miscarriages, but never in my wildest imagination could I ever even think to harm anyone to get that baby we so yearned for, let alone k*ll a pregnant woman to steal hers! I seriously cannot fathom what wickedness would have to reside in a person’s brain to come up with and follow thru with something so horrifyingly evil. My heart goes out to the Ochoa & Lopez families, and I pray that Joshua is able to have a beautiful life going forward, despite the immense pain of having his precious momma & brother stolen from him in such a dreadful way 🙏🏻
