Life changing? Yes. Atrocious butchery? Yes. An act intended to kill? No. He did not slash her throat.

    All this is made further confusing when you take into consideration that the attacker did make his intentions verbally clear, by threatening to kill them when he attack. Inferring to which would leave no doubt on the issue. However, basing the argument on what his intentions were on the act of slashing her cheek open, now does make that threat conveying his true intentions, questionable.

    A good defence lawyer would be able to use this to have the charges dropped to felony assault and battery. Or, if the prosecution only charges with attempted murder, get a "not guilty" verdict. And only because of the prosecutor is an imbecile. Because, all the defence needs to show is reasonable doubt against the prosecutions arguments. Reasonable doubt now being manufactured by the prosecution here. Not the victim or the assailant. LOL

    Also, it is total bullshit that there's nothing reported on how and why and with what did the victims manage to escape. Did the police arrive? Did the totaled car now magically start working? Did they manage to fight him off?

    Or, did he stop the assault after mutilating her and fucked off? Because if so, that kind of proves he didn't intend to kill her despite his statement to the contrary when starting the attack.

    EDIT: OK, so he did try and slash her throat but was stopped by a thick and tightlky knit denim scarf. OK, yet again him slashing at it, shows intent to kill, not the slashing the cheek. Furthermore, it would appear that the defence lawyer is even more retarded than the prosecutor.

I sit here with out any law degree and a atlantic ocean away, coming from an entirely different culture that doesn't even speak a germanic language and would be able to mount a more credible defence effort, as I've demonstrated in this comment. In a case where, the defendant has been credibly proven to have made a direct verbal threat on the victims lives.

    It is a rather moot point then, whether the knife was opened with intent or by happenstance. He used it to disfigure her and attempted to slash her throat. The act of opening the knife is irrelevant to the case at hand.

36. This is a perfect example of why all law abiding citizens need to be armed. They could have stopped this threat before it got as bad as it did had they been armed.
