A second autopsy performed on Stephen Smith, a former classmate of Buster Murdaugh, confirmed the findings that the teen died as the result of a hit-and-run. Smith — who was an openly gay teenager — was found dead in the middle of a South Carolina road in 2015. Documentaries and podcasts have often discussed whether or not Buster had something to do with Smith’s death. The Law&Crime Network’s Angenette Levy spoke with the forensic pathologist who oversaw the the second autopsy.

The fact that the investigation found that he died by injuries from a ‘car accident’ implies a cover up.
The only way this will be solved is if it benefits someone to come forward with crucial information, which could be years or decades 😢
Some folks had to be pushing this "theory" very hard for so many to seem so certain about it during Alex Murdaugh's murder trial. I remember trying to kindly ask people to stop with the wild accusations against Buster that were unrelated to the trial, but clearly people were absolutely convinced by something or someone(s). I also remember L&C covered the accusations to some extent, but unless I'm misremembering you did it in a measured way, that seemed to be reacting to all the accusations being made by the audience, so I don't think you guys are at fault at all there.
He was murdered. Probly by the last Murdaugh son. There was some kinda connection there

If Buster did have something to do with the young man’s death, then I could understand why Alex is protecting himself and Buster. Let’s not forget about the phone calls from jail. Alex must have something over Buster’s head because Buster is still his gopher. 🙀🙈🙉🙊🐵
The second autopsy sounds like they found the true cause of death. It sounds as if the driver who hit him was DUI. But what doesn't make sense is how Stephen didn't see the vehicle coming, along how he could have been walking in the middle of the road. I know there's many drivers who decide to drive in the dark with no lights on, but a very dark countryside road has no chances for a driver to be driving with no lights on, unless there was a vehicle in front of it or behind it with lights on.

Sounds like a truck with a wide load travelling late at night. That is my 1st thought from what was revealed. He probably didn't see the overhanging load in the dark till too late.
