Kayla Wright’s family knew something was wrong in early February when they started receiving odd messages from her social media accounts. Within days, Wright’s body was found stuffed in a toolbox in a sandbar in the Missisquoi River in Vermont. Now, three men are charged in connection with Wright’s murder. Law&Crime’s Angenette Levy talks with Wright’s twin sister about her role in helping solve the case and retired homicide detective Fil Waters in this episode of Crime Fix — a daily show covering the biggest stories in crime.

  1. Why is it that it, do you think that more often than not it takes a dead body for people to listen 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

  2. This is where im from i live a half mile from where she was found its aweful how bad the area has gotten from when I was younger its aweful that same river she was found is where ive forever brought my children to play they have a beautiful memorial there for her!! Ill be praying that this kind of thing stops happening around here its supposed to be a very safe area 🙏

  3. Man all the bad things that don’t happen when you stay away from drugs. Glad I’ve managed to pull out strong while so many people I know that I tried to be friends with took different paths.

  4. Please remember that the dead don’t care if they’re respected but please be respectful to the living family members. I know the best people in the world who have struggled with addiction and lost. They were nothing but kind hearted and giving. Just because someone has a disease doesn’t mean they deserve to die. All of you who think so are monsters. You’re what’s wrong with the world..

  5. Your sister IS like them. She was SELLING fent to people. She was a drug dealer and died the way one does.

  6. So terrible 😢😢😢 what is happening to the youth? I'm so blessed that God's word were taught in our schools and children were very active in sport; I have never even met someone that are involved with drugs😢😢😢 what is happening in our schools and neighborhoods 😢😢😢😢😢 RIP beautiful girl😢😢😢😢the system failed the youth

  7. I think it’s crazy for the police to tell someone “do you wanna be a suspect or do you wanna be a witness?”. Essentially they’re saying, we know you didn’t do it, or may not have done it, but if you don’t cooperate we’re going to charge you anyway.

I guess maybe this is a reasonable tactic if you already know someone IS involved, but you need their cooperation in order to charge the main suspect.

The problem is, when you’re uncertain about someone’s level of involvement, and you use that “suspect or witness” ultimatum to fish around, stabbing in the dark trying to figure out what the heck is going on, THAT is when you’re liable to charge someone who is innocent.

  8. Even with the mini-spike in crime, murders were lower than the 1990s. Now, it’s about 5K less than the ‘90s peak at around 19,000. And, we have 80M more people now.
But think about that: that’s 50+ videos that you’d have to watch every single day about murders.

  9. I’m a twin, and I’m the recovering addict, and hurting my twin with my addiction is one of the hardest things I’ve had to be sorry for. I just cannot imagine loosing a twin. My deepest sympathies for this unnecessary end to a twin team that had so much life ahead of them.
