a common reason is postpartum psychosis, a smaller percentage of women who experience this continue to perpetrate infanticide… not sure why you're asking a police officer about this phenomena…. ask a neuroscientist… or someone who understands science 🙄
The most disturbing thing I’ve encountered is the shocking number of women who support these mothers and blame the fathers or some other stressor for “pushing them over the edge”.

Diane staudte also murdered her autistic son and her husband and one of her daughters with anti freeze , the daughter survived but she has to live in an assisted living for the rest of her life!
