5. I ran to neighbours and police for help too and they called my abusers to come collect me or took me back to them. Those cops should've been charged with child endangerment for being accomplices. But of course, if the child sees no choice but to parricide, the cops won't hesitate to take action then!

6. In Utah, it is common for churches to send children to unqualified therapists who use questionable alternative methods of treatment. Often, these therapists are unlicensed and abusive, but they gain a lot of respect from the community due to the church's support, allowing the abuse to go unnoticed. I've heard similar stories from friends who are ex lds members it's not just jodi, same with marriage counselors. There is not enough attention paid to how these practices relate to the church and the overall culture in Utah. When Jodi's niece called the police, it is likely they did not act because they had received many similar calls before and, due to the prevailing culture, were accustomed to dismissing them and siding with the church, "therapists" and parents. The only reason they acted in Franke's case was because of the constant pressure from YouTube fans, putting the authorities in the public eye and forcing them to respond. I remember the cops admitted to receiving many calls about jodi in the past, so why was she still allowed to continue ?! Why didn't anyone protect these kids when, for years, they've been receiving calls not just from fans but from family members and so many other patients??? THIS IS NOT SOME NEW UNIQUE THING ALOT OF KIDS IN THE LDS CHURCH EXPERIENCE THIS

14. The irony…..Jodi Hildebrandt, the mental health therapist, is far more in need of her own mental health therapist than anyone she attempted to take on as a client. Scary woman! Twisted and dangerous!

23. Jessi is so amazing, strong, and brave. Psychological abuse is always there. I was abused at the hands of my “priesthood holding” father. We were silenced by the bishop, who broke the terms of a restraining order at my father’s request. We tried to tell police. Neighbors refused to take pictures of my mother’s bruises. This was also in Southern Utah, years ago. We have a systemic problem in our culture where people just look away.
