  1. Stay off those dating apps. Meet people the normal way. Through friends. At work. At school. At a bar if you must. But there is just too much anonymity on the dating apps.

  2. If the family hadn’t had the money and the foresight to hire private investigators the truth would never have been unearthed. So much for the role of police investigators who clearly weren’t competent to serve the public interest

  3. If you're going to meet someone new, you need a burner phone. Nothing registered in your name.
You need a PI to investigate the person.
You also need a studio apartment leased in someone else's name.
Because you won't take the person home. And you won't go home with the person.
Don't talk about where you work, where you work out, where you go for dinner or where you go for drinks.
How fun this is going to be!

  4. I've learned not to trust character descriptions from anyone's parents. I feel like they always say things like "my child would never do this" or "that's not like my kid". Way too biased in the positive direction.
