  1. I’m from Maquoketa Iowa, it’s a small town and nothing happens there. Last week someone slaughtered a family while they camped. Mother, father, 6yo daughter were shot. 9 yo son watched this and is now orphaned. (I’m a huge fan, I listen to these podcasts all day while I work)

  2. Albeit a slight delay, I am so glad that the Kristin Smart trial is finally taking place. Her family and loved ones deserve to receive some semblance of closure and justice for the senseless death of Kristin.

  3. After reading further into the self defence shooting where the poor girl died, if the information read was accurate, then he was no longer defending himself as the dude was running away. He was getting revenge for 20 bucks. The death of the girl should definitely also fall at the feet of the robber as he instigated this whole thing but the dude that shot her should face to full force of the law due to his failure to follow the simple rules of gun ownership and use:

Always Be Sure of Your Target and What’s Beyond It.

Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger until You are Ready to Shoot.

Treat All Guns as Though They are Loaded.

Always Keep Firearm Pointed in a Safe direction.

If he had followed the first rule, maybe the girl would have lived.
You absolutely should have the right to defend yourself, by whatever means neccessary, using as much or as little violence you feel neccessary at the time, however, you are also completely responsible for your actions and what they do to innocent people around. If your act to defence yourself or a third party, ends in the death of an innocent person, then you absolutely should be held accountable for that.

  4. Question about the robbery victim who shot at robber and killed the little girl… if the crime was the robbery, then because of robbery the girl was killed. Would that make the robbert face felony murder charges since he instigated events with his crime?? If self defense is legal, then robbery victim didnt commit a crime technically, it woukd all be based off first crime right?
    NVMD YALL ANSWERED IT.

  5. So the system is corrupt what else is new. Why that case wasn't solved 25 yrs ago is ridiculous. The only reason the DA even thought about the case was bc of a podcaster who did a deep dive and LE felt some type of way their egos were bruised. I remember watching the guys video interrogation when Kristen Smart first went missing he plead the 5th bc he didn't want to incriminate himself and that was maybe a year after she went missing/murdered. The guy didn't want to help in anyway which was odd if he did nothing wrong.

  6. Best show so far Joshua 🙏🏻 Josh is a fantastic guest..so engaging & knowledgeable..a real character 😃 Your show just gets better & better…thank you so much for making it…I really really enjoy it…my favourite channel on YouTube by far! 😃

  7. I'm from across the pond (Belfast, Northern Ireland) and enjoy listening to how law works over there. As we don't have the death penalty here, its good to see how other societies in the western world reach decisions. Though I'm a bit shocked that the guy who killed Arlene wasn't charged with anything. There's no justice there, that family lost a precious daughter. I don't understand that even if the shooter thought the vehicle was involved why he didn't receive some form of punishment. Look forward to your next upload x

  8. Im all for the death penalty( on cases with dna or other specific factual proof). I actually think its ridiculous to sentence ppl to death then have them sit there for 20 yrs and tax payers cover it. They shoukd get appeals, once they are done, speedy execution. Just like life sentences.. why are we giving them college classes, parenting classes etc? They arent getting out to ever need the education. Females dont need makeup or curling irons. Inmates dont need cable, tvs, or radios in their cells. Jail is not a vacation. They shoukdnt be comfortable. And yes i have been a corrections officer so ive seen all that first hand. Give them jobs( making mattresses, leather goods, license plates, farmwork etc) to keep them busy. Then sell the products and use the profit to help sustain the jails so less tax payers money is used. I think justice system, especially sentencing guidlines need to be overhauled. Its ridiculous that ppl busted with weed sometimes get more time than murderers and rapists! I know this probably wont be popular opinion, but everyone is entitled to diff opinions.

  9. I do not understand why the man that shot and killed Arlene was not charged. They are searching for the robber. Yes, use your weapon if you're on fear of your life, but this man shot blindly into a truck because he thought the truck was involved. Absolutely reckless and he did not even know who he was shooting at. The robber ran away, how does fear for your life apply here if the thief is long gone.

  10. You have all the people that went to school with Paul that will speak to his demeanor and behavior with women which would be defined as creepy and intrusive. You have Christian very drunk being eventually last seen with him and never seen again. You have the dogs smelling the scent of decomposing body in the places you'd expect to find a decomposing body in two places that he would have lived or spend time at. You also have the earrings that the neighbor found in the driveway that match the exact same set that Kristen owned and I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of stuff. I'm sorry but it's not looking good for that family! I do think he is guilty and I do think his father is guilty of covering up his son sick crime and the mother knew as well

  11. I really wish they could have somehow got a listening device into the home of these men in relation to the death of Christian smart or tap their phones even in Mr big sting oh wait they can't because it's America. But still they overwhelming circumstantial evidence really piles up the difference between a rock and a mountain.

  12. Must be agonizing for the victims & their families reliving the horrors of that day in such a long drawn-out sentencing process. It's necessary of course, though I'd imagine it wouldn't make it any less torturous for them.

  13. As a victim of attempted murder where I was brutally attacked until I physically couldn't breathe on my own and nose was dangling off my face, I am at the point where I am tired of being a prisoner of this trauma. My attacker went on to murder someone else, and I have thought he deserved death for 10 years. I am ready to forgive him because I have to let this anger and anxiety go. If he was dead I would carry this burden of not having power over my outcome for the rest of my life. Some of these victims will want to be able to let go of this pain.

  14. The system IS broken and DOES NOT, work the same for everyone. Everybody — never say anything. Even when innocent. GET A LAWYER, right away. Our justice system sees in color, and it only wants green. (Cash). I’ve seen more then my share of bad cops first-hand. Cops STILL, racially profile. My hubs and I, were even pulled over – and that *** cop-said our vehicle smelled of weed🤬. Of course it didn’t. And we were told no consent, dogs would be called. We didn’t have time for that, so watched that ugly grubs dirty hands, go through all our stuff. This sadly, is only one incident I’ve witnessed. I am terrified of cops now. I absolutely will NEVER, trust cops ever again. Please God, always get a lawyer. Never, ever speak to them whether innocent or guilty. Doesn’t matter. Save your asses and always get a lawyer/public defender.

  15. Death penalty. He ruined so many lives for NOTHING. DEATH PENALTY FOR EVERY DAMN SCHOOL SHOOTER.

GOD BLESS THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES. TRULY AN EVIL BOY. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
POS. DOESN'T DESERVE PRISON. DESERVES DEATH PENALTY.
Wait til it happens to your child. Then pat these school shooters on the head and send them back home to bleeding heart parents who donr really give a shit.

  16. I have been shouting death penalty and corporal punishments on these Crime channels for a while now. I believe that with trial and evidence today we could apply the death penalty without getting the sentence wrong. I believe that is why the death penalty was abolished in the UK a long time ago because the wrong person was punished by mistake. I am so sad to say but I believe Nikolas Cruz should be put to death but at the same time im very worried about myself saying that . I believe the prosecution and state has made a massive mistake bringing up all the evidence in court because Cruz admitted and confessed and usually a criminal is given clemency after this action. His parent died and he does not look the sharpest tool in the shed and he has probably been a bit outcast in society and that goes to his mental health. He killed children without weapons and to me that is death penalty material there but at the same time maybe Cruz needs some mercy just for once in his life even though he showed no mercy or judgement that day. Cruz does not seem to grasp certain concepts and the way he begs the court and victims for mercy really struck me .

  17. The death penalty is what keeps people from getting parole and committing more crimes. Death penalty is necessary in some instances, unless you want him out in 25 years so he can shoot more people.

  18. as i grow older i feel like the death penalty is a fair punishment. it’s hard to figure out though. if you are okay with taking so many lives maybe you are okay with death. i know i’m not, my only fear is of death, so the death penalty is the worst punishment in my opinion. but i can totally see how others are like, that’s not enough.
