Twenty-nine-year-old Alexandra Romero was arrested in August for fatally shooting a man she found in her home. She suspected the victim, 39-year-old, Javier Jimenez, was a burglar, but was actually her ex-boyfriend. Romero was behind bars for a voluntary manslaughter charger since October until a judge dismissed the case. Now, she is back in prison on murder charges for the same case. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber breaks down the case with former New Mexico Senator, Lisa Torraco.

  1. In February a judge found that theres probable cause to hold her for first degree murder. So theres more to the story she told the cops.

  2. She rejected being included in that disturbing statistic of women fatally victimized by the men in their lives. Kudos!

  3. Women have been told to smile for decades. We do it almost automatically. She did what she was turned to do. Terrified and traumatized is what she felt. “You’d be prettier if you smiled more”.

  4. 8:06 This lady is definitely on the “believe all women” bandwagon. Just because he was there doesn’t mean he was a burglar. She could have invited him over with that purpose in mind. Also, just because someone has threatened you doesn’t give you the right to kill them. The person must show actual intent and have the means and opportunity. Was there an active restraining order in place? And yes, she’s definitely smiling on the mug shot, but the lady doesn’t even see that.

  5. It seems like this scum bag host wanted to make it seem this lady was guilty because she’s smiling in a mug shot. Did you not hear the other lawyer’s arguments that all the evidence points to her defending herself in her home against an obsessed maniac? I didn’t like this host based on the way he looks but now I like him even less knowing that he’s clearly biased against certain ppl.

  6. They rather have a murder woman than help a victim . The laws seem to fail us females completely.. isn’t that double jeopardy??

  7. Law enforcement and the courts refuse to protect stalking victims and then try to punish them when they defend themselves. I thought the US had the castle thing so they are allowed to shoot people that break into their homes.
Edit: When she gets out she should sue.

  8. FREE HER
What are women supposed to do, throw the piece of paper that the restraining order is printed on at the man trying to harm us?

  9. Unless you've ever experienced the horror of being stalked, you have no reason to speculate on a VICTIM'S mugshot. How dare you? She is probably grateful to be alive. Stick to the facts. You're speculating on someone's life on a very public platform. Disappointing to say the least.

  10. I say free her … there would be no need to send said man to Jesus same day shipping if the laws put in place were enforced. She makes a police report they consider it a lovers quarrel. He hits her oh well he didn’t mean it . And restraining orders literally do nothing except escalate the situation. If he stalked and killed her he would be out in time for supper ..just disgusting 🤮.

  11. NEWS FLASH! THE JUST SYSTEM IS FAILING THIS WOMAN HORRIBLY!!! ITS ACTUALLY REALLY REALLY HARD TO GET RID OF STALKERS!!!! IVE HAD ONE. DO THE RESEARCH. LAWYERS , DO THE RESEARCH!!!! JUDGES , DO THE RESEARCH. UNLESS YOUVE HAD ONE, YOU DONT KNOW.

  12. This is so so wrong I have injustice around me left and right and hers is so horrible !!! This is NOT fair !!!

  13. As someone who is dealing with a stalker that has infiltrated all aspects of my life for the past 10yrs, I do not blame her one bit. My life will never be the same until I know my stalker and his father are 6ft under! I would be smiling in mugshot as well!

  14. I wonder if the man that was killed has relatives that work at the district attorney's office or in law enforcement where it happened? Maybe she should've waited until he almost killed her and she was almost dead before she used her firearm on him? This is blanking crazy. The other thing is after he killed her what would've you done to her kids? Would've you burned the place or kill the children so they couldn't testify against him? America is a crazy place to live these days. If she hadn't shot him is a strong possibility that this video would be about her death. The only thing I could think on why she would have a motive to kill him for no reason would be some type of life insurance policy. Or she somehow benefited from his death other than not being stocked anymore.

  15. Can’t believe Jesse tried to insinuate she committed a premeditated crime because of the very faint smirk she has in her mugshot. Anytime you are asked to take a photo you naturally perk up and put on a smile, but she barely has a smirk, it’s not like she is posing with a big cheesy grin baring all her teeth like a pyscho. Not only that convicted murderers have mugshots where they are not smiling, so with that same logic, they are innocent then? Come on Jesse, pretty pathetic logic.

  16. Man why if a woman don't want anything with you anymore don just leave her alone i really don't understand bro give her some time if she wants you back she herself is gonna look for you 🤦🤦 man have dignity

  17. Y'all are surprised ? Too many of y'all talking without knowing the law . You don't get thrown in mail because of your emotions. You don't based on what the law says.

Legally, shooting at an individual who has not been violent IN THAT INCIDENT IS NOT SELF DEFENSE (in many states).

  18. Too many women in jail right now for just basic self defense. It's like the dystopian nightmare really is here. Thanks patriarchy
