A North Carolina mom was charged with murder in connection to her infant daughter’s death on July 12. Deputies responded to a call about a suspicious person walking on the side of the road and followed them for nearly a mile. When they stopped the suspect to question her, she allegedly blurted out “Everyone come in, the baby is dead.” Catawba County deputies followed Megan Stack Sattizahn inside her home and found the baby girl unresponsive. Family member of mine started off same as Andrea Yates – had some mental issues during pregnancy/post partum and was warned by Drs NOT to have anymore children and/or go on medication… she ignore both reccomendations and went on to have more kids… the mental disturbances continued and started to grow throughout motherhood: became agoraphobic, bipolar, very abusic, and eventually spiralled into full schizophrenia. **Take Your Mental Health Seriously Folks! And ask for help whether its you or someone you know suffering…. our story had no tragic deaths but is not a happy story and no positive ending for those involved

When my oldest was an infant I had terrifying thoughts that I could hurt him. (I could throw him down these stairs or put him in this oven.)I wouldn’t bathe him unless my husband was close by (this was a yr or two after Andrea Yates. She was all over the news) Somewhere in the back of my brain I knew I wouldn’t but the thoughts continued. I was so afraid to tell anyone thinking they would take my baby. I suffered through it. Thankfully, I never acted on those VERY strong real thoughts. Around the same time I saw a 20/20 on women who dealt with the same thing and I realized I wasn’t an absolute monster. I will always warn the women in my life about the possibilities and be an available support for them. It breaks my heart to see these sick women viewed as evil monsters. They’re very sick!

There are no resources for mental health anymore. Doctors refuse to take insurance at all anymore. there are no hospital beds. Support in the community is zero.
i really dont like the way the reporter doesnt seem to get that postpartum psychosis isn't just a worse version of postpartum depression, it involves very distinct symptoms like delusions and hallucinations that aren't just bad depression

She also tried to murder the baby back in December by poisoning her and it was reported when the baby was 8 weeks old!! So now when females murder children under a certain age/within a time frame, its now wrapped in a nice, sympathetic bow called "Post Partum pyschosis". Watering down murder like this is just another example of the state of this world. Absolutely insane and disgusting.

I had the psychosis with my first baby. How hard is it to tell yourself “I know this isn’t normal” call someone? I saw my baby with a demon face and it sounded like she was speaking in a demonic tone. I stepped out to the porch to get some fresh air while calling someone to calm me down. (She was in a safe place) She’s 18 now and in medical school to become a doctor ❤ I never had it again after that day. Super weird . Poor baby. Rip sweet angel 👼
