6. In 2003, my 15 year old daughter asked me to take her to the mall. She was meeting a man she had been talking to online who said he was an artist. He was on his way somewhere else and wanted to stop to meet her. I said okay, I'll take you, but I will sit at another table while you talk. She was really mad at me. When he saw me, he suddenly had someplace else to be. I was lucky my daughter told me what was going on in her life (most of the time) or she could have been another statistic.

20. Mount Vernon High School computers are not monitored nearly as much as they should be. This is an issue that we faced with our son. Sadly, as much as parents try to parental block things the school is not as diligent as they could be.

30. This kids get tricked in thinking they have found the love of their lives believing that we the parents just want to ruin their fun and keep them from having what they deserve. They just can't understand that what they're being told by these people online are such horrible lies! I think schools need to have more kids that have survived trafficking that have survived being tricked online because kids don't listen to no One But other kids no matter what statistics we the parents show our children they just don't listen I think that kids that have survived online predators could reach out and get through to kids otherwise we're just going to keep losing them! I know what it's like to be a mom of a teenage female and immediately when they don't get what they want they think it's worst case scenario and we're out to ruin them instead of the complete opposite that it's just protecting them is all we want!!
