Nursing student beaten to death after obsessive ex-boyfriend is released from jail

3. I am going through something similar right now and I am afraid for my life every day. Prosecutor and judge agreed to low bond twice, saying how concerned they were for my safety. Half of his charges are now being dropped, and he continues to threaten to decapitate my baby a force me to eat her as he streams it on the dark web to this very day.

7. This is absolutely devastating. 💔 I've been both a recipient of a terrible dv attack (4 metal plates to put my face back together) and a Police Officer.. In my case, our DA wanted to charge him with a simple assault! Our system is so broken. Especially when it comes to DV. Prayers for her family. It makes my heart physically hurt to see the aftermath of just some of what that beautiful young lady went through.

8. This is absolutely terrifying. These kids are nuts. People break up every single day. Move on. This is unacceptable. This is happening more and more and none of these judges or case workers are ever held responsible. It’s all unavoidable. Come on do better for these kids. They didn’t even get a chance.

10. In addition to the pictures, what makes the judge think he has money to stay in a hotel or rental until his court day? She’d have to know how expensive that is, so she’s either releasing him to the streets or knowing he’d jump bail. If a young kid doesn’t even live there, you’d think as a judge you’d realize it makes more sense to keep him in.

11. The judge was thinking well that’s how she keeps her job. If she doesn’t have Crime in her community, she has no job. That’s why she released him.

Something’s gonna happen from this they are gonna pass some new law in Lauren’s name I would think. If this doesn’t open their eyes it’ll never change! Another thing why isn’t this a felony! Not ever being in trouble before is why he got bond. They should allow no bond for domestic violence period! Also had this been my daughter she would have stayed with me I know her younger sister was staying with her but what she gonna do at least until he went to court absolutely not would have let her be alone in an apartment. Just sayin! This is attempted murder and should have been charged as such!!!😮

24. Credit to Bryson's Mother for making that initial call to the police.. it's not often that the parents of these types of abusers will allow themselves to see their children objectively.. Brian Laundrie's parents (especially the Mother) comes to mind. Extraordinary to think that a Judge would have all those very telling details before her and yet still make such a reckless ruling. She absolutely has blood on her hands. My heart breaks for all that Lauren could and should have been.. and for her beautiful, dignified and heartbroken Dad. So many systemic flaws and failings in this case. I think the biggest failing was the failing to recognise that the first bashing was infact a murder attempt.. one that was interrupted by Bryson's Mother phoning. Lastly, whilst I understand that victim's are often characterised by going back to their abuser over and over.. I don't believe Lauren went willingly w Bryson on that fateful night.. and I don't understand how the camera system being destroyed and thrown broken into the front garden doesn't make that a little clearer? I believe she knew exactly how close she was to death on that first occasion. I also think drugs had alot to do w this case.. and I don't think there should be any mention of Bryson's physical expertise or fitness… this was a coward attack on a tiny young woman. Rest In Peace, Lauren.. eternally beautiful 🙏
