  1. Detective juan perez was the officer /artist tht drew my sketch of the perp after I was randomly followed on the street & then attacked when I started to walk down into the subway in midtown, manhattan 10+ yrs ago. They make you go through these boxes of old Polaroid pics & piece together similar features the perp had to the men in the pics. The walls in the office were covered with sketches perez did & 2 other artists there. It was interesting to see all the sketches. There was 1 officer there & she was somewhat new at the time & it was the 1st time they had a female in that dept doing sketches. They also had me go through all their mugshot pics & see if I recognized my attacker. Unfortunately, my detective never caught him, but to be honest, he barely put in any effort to try & catch the guy which wouldnt of been hard. The crime happened arnd 5:45am on a monday morning & the perp was an immigrant who most likely was heading home via the subway or passing by going to work at a restaurant or deli. He wasn't randomly there. Happened @the subway stop by bloomingdales. Its frustrating tht effort wasnt put into this case by the detective assigned to my case. I still have ptsd from the experience & dont like to go out @night, be alone in a cab @night, etc. I was covered from head to toe in bruises & cuts all over my face & body from fighting this guy off & he's likely still out there. He was so aggressive & I just felt that this wasn't his first time trying to assault a woman. I tell all woman; get pepper spray, carry a razor (i carry those razors tht women use to do their eyebrows) & always be aware of your surroundings.
