  1. In some ways, the catch and release is not as horrible as it could be. They dont charge him with something seemingly made up just so they can justify their interaction. He doesnt have to hire an attorney or appear in court. I would agree that having him go across the street or leave in his own car would be better. Taking his camera is messed up though. No reason to steal his property.

  2. I can well understand why a school would not want anyone handing out literature of any kind at their entrance. It does impede traffic and young drivers may be more likely to make a mistake and result in a fender bender.

  3. Principal is losing it over this guy being there. So unprofessional for someone in that position. He might have been perfect with the kids but this doesn't speak well of his anger management.

  4. Dude was handling out graphic material. Likely no more graphic than what a kid of that age would see in a reproductive ed class or the books being put in some school libraries. In fact, this kind of graphic literature would be educational to people who make soon likely face such decisions.

  5. Yeah what B- was wrong as to get lower than C typically the party needs to clearly act illegally or outside of the law, and the department even acknowledged that the officers conduct wasn't under any form of policy or legislation.

  6. how are you giving the cops a B for “interpreting the law as it is” when their oath is always to the constitution first and foremost.

  7. It is ironic that he is passing out alleged offensive materials outside the schools when they are putting X-rated materials in their libraries

  8. The fact that he is giving out antiabortion pamphlets at a Christian school is utterly hilarious to me, theoretically they shouldn't need abortion to begin with.

  9. Definitely deserved to be handled better but I just can't agree with someone spreading misinformation and bad logic especially at a school. Last thing we need is more pro-life people that severely misunderstand the importance of abortion rights.

Yes abortion rights should have some restrictions but we definitely need it in many cases especially those of rape victims of minors and cases where the mothers life is at high risk.

Can't imagine how some people think it's okay for a 12 year old to give up her life to give birth due to being raped. Inevitably taking choice away from people is something China would do, not something I'd expect from the land of the free.

That and it annoys me when religious nut jobs say life begins at conception yet the Bible states it starts at first breath. They always seem to pick and choose the verses that support their illogical views. Never met someone that stands by the Bible 100%.

That and they seem to severely misunderstand how little cells exist during the first few weeks of pregnancy. Scientifically speaking it's not alive yet nor is getting an abortion murder.

    Hopefully logic will prevail eventually.

  10. The school official was just as wrong in his behavior as the guy handing out the pamphlets. He was taking it personally, allowed a student to get involved, yelled and cussed, stole his sign, behaved as if no one was interested in what the man had to say even though MANY people stopped of their own accord to take a pamphlet but acted as if they weren't and made it abundantly clear that his objection WAS about the message and not his location. I think that's clear to anyone willing to look passed the message and focus on the behavior. I believe if the man had been speaking out about a cause the school employee agreed with, he would have looked the other way at his impeding of traffic. That's unacceptable for a school official. His firing was earned.

  11. Everyone is just awful here. But put simply walking in front of traffic at a school in the morning is inherently dangerous. No parent likes the wait to drop their kids off and making it worse is just asking for trouble. Also I assume he was on private property which wasn't really discussed but it's a private school and not open to the general public per se depending on what their policies are. And he was asked to leave so as long as they owned the parking lot surely he was trespassing at that point.

  12. While I support his rights I do not support his message, nor the actions of the school staff or police. The way this activist gets his message across is ethically questionable and just gross. I believe the discussion for abortion is one that should mostly be relegated to adults, and not children, ironically enough since the issue concerns them. I'm sure more people were uncomfortable rather than thoughtful about his message.

  13. Free speech is meant to protect unpopular speech. Popular speech, by definition, needs no protection.
    Neal Boortz

Also, a kids school is a great place to communicate your message. That’s where the parents are.

  14. I give these officers an A+!!!!! This weirdo had ABSOLUTELY NO business distributing that type of material to CHILDREN!!!! There is a time and place for abortion discussions AND with a certain age group!! and that IS NOT with children on their way into school!

  15. Why is real pictures of abortions considered "graphic and inappropriate" yet I bet you every kid in that school has seen at least as graphic, if not more graphic, images in movies as well as video games and none of those are considered "graphic and inappropriate" even though they are all gratuitous and unnecessary?

  16. You certainly don't need to be a Christian to realize that abortion is immoral. I think many more babies could have been saved if the anti-abortion movement hadn't been viewed as synonymous with Christianity.

  17. All I can say is this: if you hold me up in the carpool line you'll WISH I'd only called the police on your ass. Mama has to get to work!

  18. D- for the Law Officers… Sounds like Kidnapping was done, failure to properly investigating… they were in 1min or less already enforcing what they did not investigate.

  19. I think it's is completely clear that the school staff opposed the message as well as the method. They took away a sign on the other side of the road (where they wanted the activist to stand), and they were pretending no one was interested despite the fact that drivers were stopping and lowering their windows to see what he had to say
