Robert Chambers — known as the “Preppy Killer” — was just released from prison nearly 40 years after he strangled a teen girl in Central Park. Chambers only spent 15 years in prison for the murder — but was most recently behind bars for drug and assault charges. The Law&Crime Network’s Jesse Weber discusses what’s next for the convicted killer with retired NYPD detective Mike Alcazar.

  1. Sociopath – in trouble throughout his entire life – dependent upon others to help him get out of trouble – no accountability – he's 58 now. He will be back behind bars again. I have no doubt. Jennifer Levin & her family paid the ultimate price. He is still breathing – where is the justice? Karma, I pray Karma comes for him. He cannot find a job, who will hire him, where will he live? He can't pay rent or get a mortgage…. a LOSER from the get-go. He was NOT a preppy – he was a POSER.

  2. Reading a paperback book on this case now. This guy was rotten to the core. Drugs, alcohol, stealing, breaking and entering for burglaries. Wouldn't do anything but party. Doubt he's changed much over the years. Looking forward to him going back to prison soon.

  3. Dude is 58 years old and has been in prison for more then half of his life…even if he was charged for first degree murder he probably would have been paroled after 30 years….the guy is a total loser who gambled his life away so you have very little to envy him for but at the same time also think the last thing on his mind now is to murder somebody else

  4. At the time he appeared to be un-remorseful and his apology to the Levins sounded hollow and forced. He comes across as his own worst enemy. His mother tried to pave his way into NY upper echelon society but the killing was brutal and he was kinda clueless and lacked any real empathy. He now comes across as something of a tortured soul.

  5. If you watch is interview with DailyMail he’s already trying to tell the story that he was improperly treated with his drug charges. Can’t be more clear that this guy is a narsacitsttic psychopath who will probably not remain free during his parole supervision period.
