Prosecutors Rip Apart Dylan Rounds’ Killer at Sentencing: ‘It’s Disgusting’ – Everything Law and Order Blog

The mysterious disappearance of Dylan Rounds, a young Utah farmer, has finally reached a grim resolution following a plea agreement with his killer, James Brenner. In a calculated move to secure a reduced sentence, Brenner cooperated with authorities by leading detectives to the location where he had disposed of Rounds’ body. This development brought a measure of closure to a case that had left the community and Rounds’ family searching for answers.

In a tense courtroom scene, Brenner faced his sentencing, where prosecutors did not mince words, labeling the killer as “disgusting” for his actions. The judge, weighing the severity of the crime against the cooperation provided, ultimately sentenced Brenner to up to 15 years in prison. In this episode, Law&Crime’s Sierra Gillespie offers a comprehensive breakdown of the court proceedings, exploring the emotional impact on the victim’s family, the legal strategies employed, and the broader implications of plea deals in high-profile murder cases.

  1. Brenner leading investigators to the body shouldn't have gotten him any less time. He killed Dylan in cold blood. He planned to do it that's why he brought a gun.

  2. Brenners always been a loser and was envious of Dylan for wanting to make something of himself. The man's evil.

  3. I don’t understand he didn’t get how does she feel he is going to do life
I also feel showing a killer pictures of the individual that they murmured and make them see what life they took some times I feel that it opens a killers eyes to what they didn’t see before

  4. That Evil Pond Scum Should of Got Life In Prison, he took a life, and he should loose his by spending every single waking hour Remembering how and why he got put behind bars for life. I hope the parol board sees it in there hearts to make sure Evil never walks Free again.

  5. The fact he didn't get Life in prison is horrible and wrong. He is a repeat offender. 45 years for murdering a person. If James Brenner were to ever to get out of prison, would who ever set that 3–45-year limit for killing someone, be ok with him hanging around one of your loved one once he is freed.

  6. This case has touched so many so far away ,,being a farmer my entire life im 46 yrs old ,this coward took a young mans dreams an life, I HOPE AN PRAY SOMEONE WHEREVER YOU END UP DOIN YOUR TIME IS TOUCHED BY THIS AN JUSTICE IS SERVED THE WAY YOU DESERVE

  7. It boggles my mind how these courts are so focused on remorse. If you're capable of shooting someone in the head, you're probably not a very empathetic person, right? And if you shoot somebody and then afterwards feel remorse, isn't that a bit too late? The problem with this whole system is that people with poor impulse control and a lack of empathy ALL OWN GUNS.

  8. This just disgusts and saddens me. This was such a hardworking, grounded young man and this slime that should not even be allowed to continue to live took his life. So not fair. I thought the death penalty should have applied here

  9. I don't think he deserves a pat on the back. But I do think Candace should be more grateful that she did get her son's body back to have a proper burial she just sounds arrogant still
