Unless you have a child with aspergers or on the Spectrum, you really don't know. Some can be highly intelligent, While most are not. They can say yes when they mean no, they can say white when they mean black. They have to look at how this disability hampered his life. If he was able to function and be social that's one thing. If not it's quite another thing. Taking the pins out of the flooring of the boat, is definitely an odd behavior. If he were young and the boat was sinking I can understand him grabbing those items to survive and hopefully would have called for his mom. It seems like according to this report that his mother was afraid. What I don't get is why anyone would leave at 11 p.m. at night to go out in a boat.
