Ronald Kirby, D.C.’s director of transportation, was gunned down in broad daylight in his nice neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia. Was the killing random, or did someone with a grudge target him specifically? Kirby’s murder, it turns out, shared a lot of similarities with a murder that took place about a decade earlier, and a murder that took place after his own death as well. As much as I sympathize with people losing child custody (because so many people lose custody unjustifiably, especially men) I think it's clear why he lost custody of his child, he was not mentally stable enough to be a reliable parent, and seeing what he's capable of (multiple murders) it was very fortunate for that child to have grown up without him, seems like the courts actually did the right thing this time.
While visiting Alexandria, I had reason to have to interact with several police there. They were unbelievably compassionate and kind. Alexandria police, you’re the BEST!
