In December 2019, a 12-year-old boy was walking down a Des Moines street when he was plowed down by a person driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee. An hour later, a 14-year-old walking to a basketball game was hit by the same driver who was later identified as Nicole Poole Franklin. When police caught up with her and she was questioned, Franklin told detectives she did what she did because they were “Mexican” and made numerous derogatory comments about “Latinos.” Couch Detectives picks up the disturbing story from here.

When someone who was severely mentally ill makes a CHOICE not to keep their prescriptions filled not to take their mouths not to keep their psyche appointments not to keep their medication not to be responsible then they are responsible for their own actions if they don't want to be responsible to take care of themselves and they have to be kept in a mental health facility cut and dried I myself have several severe mental health I keep my medications I take my medications as prescribed I keep my appointment I keep my counseling appointments I don't expect anybody else to take responsibility for me or my actions I've never had a run-in with the law and I never will I accept reality as it is
