I will never own a ring doorbell. I don't even have a computer with a cam.
If a third party secures something for you, then you aren't in control of it. They are.

People need to realize that the "Cloud" just means someone else's computer. Self host any security camera storage – it's more complicated, but if privacy is important don't send your personal records to someone else.

This is why I would have disguised cameras on an independent network, going to a server in a hidden, fire proof, safe room.
