  1. I will give Kevin the benefit of the doubt that he was unaware of what was happening when he and Ruby were separated. For about a year Kevin had no contact with his wife or children. However, I highly doubt that Kevin was unaware of Ruby's abusive behavior. Ruby (and possibly also Kevin) had been abusing their children long before Jodi came into the picture. Jesse Hildebrandt (who is Ruby's niece) openly stated that she was being abused for years by Ruby. At best Kevin was just turning a blind eye to the abuse and at worse he was also an abuser. Either way he is not fit to be a parent.

  2. Men: This is why its important to really vet who you marry and have children with. Because no matter what, society puts you under the microscope for what a woman does. They're seen as having no agency, you are always suspected as being complicit or the mastermind behind their terrible behavior.

  3. Sounds to me like the Franke woman fell victim to the trending "Narcissism Cult" where you brand everyone in your life a "narcissist" and then go "no contact". Sounds like Franke has the husband living under the terms of the narcissism trend that is actively breaking up families and relationships. Much of this brainwash is disseminated on YouTube, by various 'gurus'.

  4. Is this woman ok? Its HARD to understand???? The man either saw pictures or in person the HORRIFIC RESULTS of his wife's ACTIONS AND YOU FIND IT DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND WHY HE HAD A 180??
It would be EXTREMELY SHOCKING IF HE DIDN'T

  5. he didn't even ask about how the kids were…. he was completely brainwashed. It sounds like they were in an a cult. very sad…but as others mentioned in their comments the abuse started years before she got connected to connections. They were doing things with the kids that should have never happened.

  6. Kevin Franke’s efforts would be better spent on educating the public on what the term “life coach” actually means, rather than trying to regulate it in his state.

It’s way too broad a term, with way too many niches in which people have legitimate lived experience that doesn’t translate into a degree or license.

Coming down on everyone who describes themself as a life coach would negatively affect people who don’t deserve it, without actually doing anything to improve the situation.

You’ll never eliminate the potential for bad actors, so you need to give everybody else the knowledge they need in order to avoid those who mean them harm.

  7. This man is culpable. His inconsistent versions of events is extremely suspect. He knew something the entire time. His emotional disconnection after hearing about what happened to his kids makes me suspect that he’s been guilty of abuse as well.

  8. Even thought Kevin didn’t physically abused his children, he was there and he witnessed how his wife treated his children when they were doing 8 Passengers. He witnessed how Ruby used foods as punishments to the kids. He witness how Ruby took away Chad’s bedroom for 7 months and let him slept on bin bed. He’s there when they both sent Chad to wilderness when Chad was only 14. He was there when Ruby took away Chad’s homework’s and required him to pay to get back his school homework. He didn’t even contact and inquired about his children for over a year. He didn’t even ask how R and R are doing when police informed him of his kids conditions that they have to be hospitalized. So he’s still guilty of negligence. And we all agreed that the authority has to be careful when they granted him the custody of his 4 children.

  9. Him saying he agreed with Jodi that he needed this space to fix himself, just tells me he was just couldn’t be bothered to be your father. why on earth would you not have anything to do with your children, in over a year?

  10. What I found very odd is that he did not show much concern about the harm done to his children. One would expect a parent to become extremely concerned after being told the children were abused.

  11. I think it’s very telling that when R escaped to the neighbor’s house, he did not ask to call his dad, but wanted to go to the police, WHO HE HAD BEEN CONDITIONED NOT TO TRUST! That says so much!

  12. How would he practically be able to care for these abused children if he got custody of them? I still think they need someone else looking after them, and to be in different community, for a fresh start. R and E need to be together. I'd modify that to leave openings for their older siblings to visit.

  13. not escusing Kevin for anything, but he was in the bubble of a high control group. after the hoopla and being exposed to other people, the media, his expanded family and community, he was awoken and see that it was nothing but more abuse and manipulation that he was exposed to AND a part to (IMO).
