Secret relationship with killer unveiled after teen’s body found in shallow grave – Everything Law and Order Blog

In this episode of Crime Watch Daily Updates: It’s no secret that teenagers can be unpredictable, but 15-year-old Megan Nichols was a strong student and active in her church. So it became all the more shocking when she vanished one day, leaving only her cell phone that had been wiped clean and a mysterious note on her bed.

On July 3, 2014, Megan went shopping with her mom, Kathy Jo, but said she wasn’t feeling well, so she went home early while her mom stayed out. That evening, her mom walked into her room to say goodnight, but instead of finding her daughter, she discovered an empty bed.

Megan left a note for Kathy Jo saying she was never going to be happy in their small town of Fairfield, Illinois, and not to look for her because she didn’t want to be found. Her mother immediately called the police, but they could not do much because she had not been gone for long enough.

Kathy Jo checked Megan’s bank accounts and saw she made withdrawals on July 3, the same day she went missing. Surveillance cameras from the ATM caught Megan on video, and that was the last time Megan was seen alive.

Investigators searched for Megan and clues regarding her disappearance, and they came up empty-handed until December 26, 2017. Human remains were discovered on a rural farm in Wayne County, Illinois, and a month later, they were positively identified as Megan.

On October 7, 2020, law enforcement officials in Indiana arrested Brodey Ian Murbarger and charged him with Megan’s death. Brodey and Megan were reportedly in a relationship, and the two supposedly had plans to run away together. Investigators, however, found her blood in his car.

He was convicted of first-degree murder in October 2022, and his attorneys filed a motion for a new trial.

Let’s look back at the case of a teenager whose death rocked her small town.

  1. one thing I don't understand with the police rule that you are not long enough gone what if in the short time that someone is gone they can still be save but because these police decided 24 hours or more people died

  2. Dear Megan's Mom ❤️

I am so deeply, deeply, DEEPLY sorry for your loss 😔

I too recently lost my 14 year old son. BEAUTIFUL boy, Branson.

I too, am a single Mom.

This hurts like hell and makes life really difficult to navigate through every nanosecond of every day. Even today, even yesterday, I just cry and cry and cry for him. I'm so sorry 😭 💔

  3. No way is this suicide. The police just didn’t bother investigating due to the family being awkward and bashing them on social media. No one kill’s themselves by setting fire to themselves.

  4. I spit on the channel that does this. You think you will attract people to watch another video? Rubbish channel with no respect

  5. These Justice Regulations that need 48 hours to start investigating the disappearance of people and often weeks if they are adults, is an outrage because many lives could be saved if it weren't for this Judiciary regulation.

  6. Omg…. Fairfield Ill. Is my father's hometown! It's a very small town with no bars and nothing to do! We lived there for a couple of years as a small child. Thankfully we moved from there and we never had to grow up there ! I many relatives buried there! I would never want to live there it's so boring!

  7. Anna I have the most absurd irrelevant question but it bothers me so I need to know the answer! Is the framed art you have, displaying what I believe is a bird supposed to be on the floor displayed as such or is it something you are meaning to hang and haven't gotten around to it yet? I'm going to assume it's ment to be displayed on the floor leaning against the wall! I assume this because it's been there for quite some time much too long for it to be something you're meaning to hang up and forgot, but hey, ya never know unless ya ask!

  8. This is some BS..💩
Just don't even waste your time on just HALF of a story.. Wtf is the point?
To forget about it..?..to waste more of my time later after I've forgotten about it, or is it just CLICK BAIT BS?.
    Get it TF together…😐🤦‍♀️
