Small town mom living two lives gets murdered; family gets justice years later – Everything Law and Order Blog

In this episode of Crime Watch Daily Updates: Paige Birgfeld had it all: good looks, three beautiful kids, and a large house in a small town. She and her husband had somewhat of a tumultuous relationship though, and they eventually split up. She then reconnected with her first husband again.

On June 28, 2007, Paige drove back to her home in Grand Junction, Colorado, from Denver, where she had been visiting her first husband. Then, she fell off the grid. Her family reported her missing June 30, 2007, and the next day, investigators discovered her car burning in a parking lot. Search crews found some of Paige’s belongings along the highway, but she was nowhere to be found. Police suspected she had been kidnapped.

Detectives also uncovered a bombshell: Behind Paige’s sweet appearance with oval glasses and red hair, she owned and operated a high-end escort service called Models, Inc.

While sifting through her phone records, detectives learned Paige received three phone calls from a mystery man named Jim, whose real name is Lester Ralph Jones. And, it just so happened that Lester worked across the street from where police found Paige’s burning car.

Detectives looked through Lester’s workplace and found suspicious evidence, but there wasn’t enough to arrest or charge him.

Then, in 2012, five years after she disappeared, a hiker found a skull in a dry creek bed. The skull had duct tape around the jaw and head. Lester was arrested in 2014 and in September 2016, went to trial. The jury couldn’t unanimously decide on a verdict, so the judge declared a mistrial.

Prosecutors re-tried Lester and in December 2016, he was convicted of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and second-degree kidnapping. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Lester appealed his conviction, and in June 2022, the Colorado Court of Appeals upheld his murder conviction, but determined the kidnapping conviction should be merged with murder. The change won’t impact his sentencing because he will still serve life in prison.

Let’s take a look back at the tragic and brutal killing of a young mother whose two lives merged into a tragic ending.

  1. She chose to be a prostitute. She could have chosen to downsize her life and be there with her kids but she didn't. Don't sugarcoat what she did. She put herself in situations where she was isolated with these dirty old men in compromising positions and left her crying children at home in her million dollar house. Her kids didn't care about the million dollar house… PAIGE DID!!! Don't ever say she did this for her kids!! That makes me so sick! She did it for own selfish reasons. Shame on her and may God have mercy on her soul!!!

  2. Lonnie killed her cuz she was an escort. His name on the streets is Lonnie he almost got off but I'm a freak of nature and died in front of Lonnie and rose up and told him he goes to prison or I would torture him. The chicken wackers aka a kabal occult know. Ya that sick fuck was going down buy now I suffer for what I did. So NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED! NEVER AIR THIS AGAIN

  3. And that interrogators attitude. I felt like her tone was a lot more weighted than it couldve been and it was to make a point that she wasn’t scared being alone with a gigantic murderer. I loved it

  4. Omg the detective work in tracking the serial code and then scrubbing seedy video camera footage 😅😂😂😂 i just thought that was remarkable detective work to even think of that.

  5. I am so happy Paige got jiustice! So much more homicides would occure without escorts and sex workers. Lots of men sole acess to affection is from sex workers they are the salvation of disfunctional masculinity, lets be honest not every men have the emotional intelligence and social skills or looks to attract women.

  6. The recordings from her children were heartbreaking. I feel so bad for her babies and her Father.
Regardless what her choices were, she didn't deserve to be murdered.
    Prayers for her family. 😔💔🙏🏽

  7. This was the dumbest documentary. She was married & working as a prostitute. She forces a divorce from her husband. She falsely accuses him of assault. He leaves, she continue to do escort service, & her friends think it’s ok. She winds up missing & dead. But the friends still blame the ex- husband. Women can’t accept their bad choices lead to a life of trash. This is why we have toxic feminists.

  8. Her father Conveniently left out her business of selling ass. And also Rob my have gotten angry and yelled and screamed but the type of person that would resort to becoming a whore couldn’t be easy to live with. I hate how shows like this throw the husband under the bus but the prostitute wife is just an angel that was doing what she had to. She was a greedy prostitute that put herself in harms way and it ended up costing her life and her children a mother. That wasn’t her husbands fault that was her fault.

  9. What a shame. I think she loved money and big houses a bit too much perhaps? This may have led her to do what she could to maintain the lifestyle she created. Tapping into her sexual power led her down into a path of darkness. God bless her children and Father.
