Several victims took the stand on Wednesday to recall the terrifying moment they believed was going to be their last day alive after accused killer Nicolae Miu allegedly stabbed multiple people, killing one and severely injuring several others. Nicolae Miu, 54, is accused of stabbing a teenager to death, and injuring four others, while tubing on the Apple River in Wisconsin back in July of 2022. Isaac Schuman, 17, was killed and Rhyley Mattison, 24, suffered severe stab wounds. Miu is facing multiple charges including first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree homicide, and battery with a dangerous weapon. Miu claims he acted in self-defense.

These are definitely not the brightest prosecutors and the defense attorneys are condescending.
This case should be an example to people to not put yourselves in harms way. It seems like the defendant knew how to harm people. In mere seconds hed injured several severely and killed another. Someone without knowledge on how to harm people couldn't have done what he done. He should've just went on down the river. The kids shouldn't have taunted him and just went down the river. Totally avoidable.

pretty blown away by all the nasty comments in here it’s clear that Miu is a psychopath who was looking for trouble. He came to stir up trouble, and he traumatized these young adults and children. Yes, 17-year-olds are children. The proof is on the video. Anybody can’t see that this is guilty is beyond me. I agree the prosecution is terrible, but the case is strong.

I’m confused about all the comments talking about either “stand your ground” or “ duty to retreat”, I believe Wisconsin doesn’t have either of those laws and the law states something along the lines of you can’t cause bodily harm or use force that could likely cause death unless you feel it is necessary to prevent great bodily harm or death to yourself. I’m pretty sure it’s obvious he would believe great bodily harm was going to happen to him, it doesn’t mean I think he should have stabbed four people but I just imagine if my loved one was in this situation with all these people pushing and hitting them in the water, would I blame them for reacting? Everything he did after the incident though is just crazy and I’d love to know what he said to his wife after the stabbings.
