SWAT standoff destroys house; homeowner sues city (Updates in description below) – Everything Law and Order Blog

From 2015: A suburban house in Colorado is destroyed during a 19-hour standoff with a shoplifting suspect. The homeowner, who had no connection to the suspect or the crime, was later offered $5,000 for the damage by the city of Greenwood Village, and he sued. A federal court denied the homeowners any compensation for those damages in 2019. On June 29, 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court announced that it will not hear the case.

  1. THIS is why the police need to be defunded ! There is absolutely no reason or excuse for police departments to not only have tanks , surplus military weapons , equipment etc but enough ammo that they can waste it like this . They were clearly not doing a damn thing but playing with their toys and stroking their d!cks and egos FFS !
