Teacher Accused of Drinking at School Showed Up Drunk to Court: Cops – Everything Law and Order Blog

The Oklahoma teacher accused of showing up drunk to teach her third-grade class in August was arrested again on Monday. Payne County authorities said Kimberly Coates allegedly showed up to the courthouse walking unsteadily, smelling of alcohol with glossy eyes and slurred speech. A deputy arrested her for public intoxication after she allegedly admitted to having a glass of wine before coming to court — the same drink of choice she’s accused of bringing to the elementary school. The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie breaks it down.

  1. I cant begin to express how thankful i am that I'm no longer bondage to alcohol . Im literally 951 days 100% sober today. I was in rough shape, i literally was drinking every day, all day for YEARS and " could fool the best of them". Roughly 2&1/2 yrs ago @ 3:00 a.m. i cried uncontrollably and took my last drink of that poison. I was told i had " 6 months to live" by a medical professional. I'm living a fulfilling life now, genuinely happy and full of peace. A great sober relationship and indescribable feeling of joy. Thankyou for reading:)

  2. This is just a sad situation for everyone involved..I pray that she gets the help needed like others have said before it's too late. My prayers go out to her her family and friends and co workers

  3. I worked a job where my supervisor came everyday drunk, on his lunch break he went to the bar. I asked him how he get the job drinking like that he said well they dont test for alcohol…. lol

  4. Hey, just think, if she would have been drinking and teaching in California, she would not have faced any charges at all. Wendy Munson, a second grade teacher at a school North of Sacramento, CA was found to be intoxicated at twice the legal limit. Prosecutors found that it isn't illegal to be drunk and teach. Only in California would something like this not be illegal. California is a cesspool that needs to slide off into the Pacific Ocean. Disgusting!

  5. This woman needs help and she should have gotten it way before she got to this point but it makes me feel crappy to see someone hitting rock bottom and having their lives ruined (ruined past getting their addiction sorted out) on social media. Is it really worth the clicks to completely humiliate this woman and have everyone around her know and gossip about her when they see her, even when/if she gets clean? Idk. She’s an adult and she should know what her next steps should be but I don’t think making her famous for ruining her life is showing much humanity.
