12. the kid was 14 years old and on lexapro ? and taking the ACT at 13 yrs old, usually a college admissions level test ? seems to me that mom was putting her under a lot of pressure to perform academically and the kid just snapped.

18. Just for some context. In virtually every developed country on the planet, this child would not be prosecuted as an adult. The minimum age is often 16 and even 18 in other countries. This is a ridiculous travesty of justice although it's in line with the vengeful, eye for an eye American justice system.
