He knew his kids would spill the beans on what he did to her. That's why he killed himself and them. His father had a part in it too.
I recommend the Cold podcast. It is a very deep dive into this story. There are some new bits in this one. I don't think he put the entire 911 social worker call like on this video. I know it's easy for us to say that now knowing the story, but he didn't seem to take the situation quite seriously enough and had a problem retaining info she had already given him while asking information that wasn't really relevant to sending a cop out to investigate.
Not only is this negligent parenting, but negligent public officials to not save little toddlers after supposedly witnessing their moms killing

This case is unforgettable. I've never been able to shake loose of it.
This woman is something else. If I was Josh I would want to know what they are investigating? The police are saying they are just trying to find the wife. Bull they are trying to find a crime! They are looking for a murder! . You might try the father!
Although Josh was a lame loser, he was smart enough to get away with murder. Police failed this case on many levels. I suggest watching the KSL podcast as it so much more in-depth. RIP Susan and the boys.
Instead of erasing descriptive nouns and action verbs, which are essential in communication, how about just saying those words backward like depar, dellik etc.

That 911 operator in Puyallup was such an inept twit. We lived close enough to see the house go up.
I’m just at the part where Steve is talking about her feet on the couch and Josh is on the other couch, she should have been in the safest place in the world for her but she was in such staggering peril it’s hard to imagine being in that position and in that religion these men have complete power over you, she’s sick to top it off, she had to have felt so many horrible things. I feel the freeze response myself just imagining being her in that moment.
When you offer people unlimited forgiveness, most will take advantage of it.
