The WV Town With No First Amendment Rights – Panhandling and the First Amendment – Everything Law and Order Blog

Jeff Gray, the “Godfather” of First Amendment auditors on Youtube, this week stopped in a couple different small towns here in West Virginia, publishing two videos of his encounters.

Jeff went to Mount Hope, West Virginia. When Jeff told me he was coming through West Virginia, asking where he should go, I told him about Mount Hope, where I exposed the fact that they had this police officer who was essentially terrorizing motorists on a nearby four lane highway. So apparently that’s where he chose to go, and you can watch the full video on his channel about just what happened.

A town official basically claims that the First Amendment doesn’t apply in her town. Is “panhandling” protected free speech?

  1. I would just love it for just one incompetent tyrant moron to show us all where it says that its a crime to be a law abiding citizen!
    Where is it ???

  2. HE COULD'VE HELD A PANDHANDLING SIGN (PLEASE HELP I AM HOMELESS), AND IT IS TOTALLY LEGAL, LONG AS HE WAS ON PUBLIC PROPERTY, WHICH HE WAS…..A SIDEWALK.

  3. Well, at least these officers didn't harass him that's good to see some officers understand people's civil rights. The only thing disgusting is that woman what's wrong with saying God bless the homeless veterans…

  4. City employee needs to take a class in the Constitution as she is infact sworn to protect the man's right to sand there and speak. If she or the officers actually forced him to stop it would be an act of treason on there part. Her statement that the Constitution ends at the city line not only wrong but is an act of rebelion against both the US and State government. Maybe Justice should consider to send in the national gaurd to resecure the renagade town and deal with the traitors like the treasurer..

  5. When President Trump gets reelected all of these people are going to burst into flames. So we can get on with living our lives the way our forefathers wanted us to live. There are way too many ignorant and misinformed ignorance in this country.

  6. Nice to see these 2 officers respecting his rights. These types of people like this woman want to live in a bubble that nothing bad happens and if it does it isnt their concern. That is, of course, until it happens to them. Unfortunate for them, however, if it does happen to them, their like-minded friends and acquaintences are likely to turn their backs and pretend it was their own fault.

  7. Love the first amendment, can’t stand religious fanatics and frauditors. Love the Djando quote 😂

Panhandlers in places like Colorado are so numerous, that they impede traffic and many times attack people. Protected as it may be, the people HATE it and panhandlers should be ready for whatever pushback the public gives them. They are roaches in so many places unfortunately. Liberal policies cause this.

  8. What she is sayin to me is she doesn't have any respect or appreciation for our homeless vets that have laid their lives on the line for her freedoms and obviously doesn't respect our freedoms either

  9. in front of the republican eric brooks for House, funny how Republicans want less government but will drop a dime real fast to get a government enforcer on the scene asap Brooks did elected to House, if the city hall has a problem with the first amendment, they should send a letter to Eric and request that he try to have the first amendment abolished.
This lady from city hall? has she been drinking, is there a pub close by?

  10. It is unbelievable that people can believe that that a city ordinance can take precedent over the US constitution in their town. Our Education system is obviously failing.

  11. Politicians beg us for campaign contributions to get elected. Once elected, they pass ordinances banning begging. Irony..

  12. Jeff is a total badass. I have been watching his videos for years now. He is very articulate, very informed and does his research before attempting any audit. A lot of auditors can learn a lot from him and just the public in general. He's had some very scary encounters with military and the police. He's a very strong man with awesome morals. A+ every video. The best part about Jeff, is he never has to taunt or make any disrespectful remarks. The government must can't help themselves.

  13. I understand how he wants inform us about our first amendment. The problem is lots of these people doing all of this auditing get out of hand with it. When you provoke a police officer in a public building by swearing just to have him make a negative remark is disrespectful. It's rude and makes them the asshole not the cops. I get that it's your right to make videos in public places. One thing I have seen myself is an auditor getting pissed at somebody taking a photo of him. I can go on about this but figure it out for yourself. In this case it ended well. The police offices didn't ask for his ig and he didn't provoke them by screaming and swearing. Both sides get an A this time.

  14. I’m an atheist & personally think religion holds the human race back & encourages irrational thought, sex offenders, violence, bigotry, theft, child abuse & is weaponized to pit an “us vs a them”. But by god I think you have the right to practice your religion freely. It can be a wonderful thing for some. Jeff is truly risking his life protecting our 1st amendment. May sound hyperbolic but we’ve all seen how a situation can quickly turn extremely violent in an instant. One cop just needs to yell “gun!”.

  15. Damn that lady is stupid. Deputies seem cool in the beginning, but have no understanding of the laws they are supposed to enforce. I've watched dozens of Jeff's videos. He used to be more aggressive when he ran into oath breakers. Signed Jeff from the sixties

  16. Public streets and squares, have always been a space where people went to convey their ideas. The original evening news was a fellow called "the town cryer" who walked around shouting public information. Some had a specific spot where they would be stationed for convenience. Public streets have been the defacto go to to get out their message.
