  1. In his 12 years on the job, this police officer with the Melvindale, Michigan Police Department has been suspended, criminally charged and fired. But he’s also still there right now. So why? Lt. Matthew Furman says that the only reason there have been so many allegations against him is because he’s “proactive” about stopping crime. He’s currently under investigation by both the Michigan State Police and the Melvindale Police over a traffic stop that quickly escalated to tasing the driver. Officer Furman maintains that he did nothing wrong; that it’s just another false claim.

  2. cuffs are a use of force. why was the passenger cuffed.
and why she thrown into the backseat, that argues an arrest was made.
and when the government tells you to shut up, they have just violated your rights and you should just get very loud in response.

  3. The fact that it not only took the mayor that long to answer such an easy question but that she answered while laughing, tells me this is more than just a single problem officer but comes from the top down.

  4. Why has he even still got policing credentials with a record like this? He’s confusing pro active with bullying and violence, this guy is a dangerous narcissist who should be in prison.

  5. In my opinion any cop who is convicted of a crime should lose there LE permit and never be allowed to be a cop anywhere. Failure of duty flies in the face of the professionalism and higher standards that they claim to be held to.

  6. Furman needs to be in prison in general population…and if he gets what he's been giving to many, many others for years and years…well…there's a reason they say karma's a bitch!

  7. All of the officers on site are bad. They didn't stop the obvious abuse by one of their own. Until good officers stop bad officers, they're complicit in the bad officers' actions, making them just as bad.

  8. I think until someone is seriously injured or deceased at the hands of this person he will continue to laugh in his hand at any attempt to hold him accountable.
