On July 8, following a 3 week trial, a federal jury convicted three former state-level correctional officers in Hawaii of felony civil rights violations for the physical assault of an inmate under their custody, as well as of charges relate to the subsequent coverup. After the trial, the federal judge immediately ordered the U.S. Marshalls to take the men into custody pending their sentencing hearings. I have the surveillance footage, and it’s pretty bad. I also obtained some of the criminal case documents, including the indictment, jury instructions and jury verdict form, which you can find at the website at thecivilrightslawyer.com.

Take a look at the surveillance video, and then we’ll go into the indictment, which was initially sealed. It’s somewhat long for a use of force incident, but watch the whole thing, because it must be seen to be understood.

  1. So, only 10 years for beating the crap out of somebody, but 20 years for lying about it in a report. How pathetic are our laws? Ridiculous. And most likely, they only get a slap on the wrist in terms of sentencing, because I’m sure it’s their “first” offense.

  2. my God that was hard to watch. Officers were massive and the guy was small. Kicking to the face and all that blood on the floor afterwards was sickening to see. steven

  3. The problem with incidence like this is that a lot of people will look at it and be like “so he’s an inmate and chose not to care about anything and that’s why he’s there.” What they don’t understand is by allowing this type of behavior it breeds heavier and heavier. It will eventually make its way to you.

  4. I wpuld bet these officers were paid by someone in the prisom to teach thid convicta lesson. They need to find out who paid them and convict them to

  5. Bill of Rights is 4 all PEOPLE INSIDE U.S.BOARDERS!! ENTIRE THING—ALL 10 AMENDMENTS!!! Seems like judge "cherry picked" which amendment(s) were broken & go from there. NOT KOSHER!!!

  6. I've been beat down like this by police on a few different occasions, the difference is, is that I have never resisted or even tried to fight the police, it's just the way the cops are in Macomb county Michigan. Everything time I was in the bullpen at the country jail, other prisoners would be brought in that would be all beat up from the police. This was in the 90s and early 2000s, I'm willing to beat it hasn't changed a bit,.if anything it has probably gotten worse.

  7. I honestly can't tell who's the inmate and who's the cop. It looks like a bunch of thug gang members beating some dude down. They have no prestige or honor. That's definitely a red flag. It's disgusting and I really don't think they were punished enough.

  8. Life in prison for all these “men”. A gang of people with authority attempting to murder someone they have total power over. Disgusting

  9. Those three will have to go to a Federal prison so they won't be abused like they do to other prisoners. They will get golf & tennis lessions and very special treatment as all Fed employee, politician or other LEO would like when they get caught. This special biden handling must stop.

  10. I’m thinking the camera guy was supposed to turn it off for them and for one reason or another decided to nail them.
