1. The emotional maturity in this teen is so impressive. My heart breaks because the sensitive natured children are almost always singled out in a toxic abusive home and the pain and self blame they carry for being scapegoated and abused is often much deeper than the anger and resentment for being abused and mistreated. It’s much harder healing from that when at the root you blame yourself and think “the problem is/was me”.

15. Run for your life, kid. Dont give people like him credit. Dont forgive them or have faiith in them. They are not capable of a genuine concept of love. Sociopaths will always harm you, they will always manipulate and lie. Love yourself, take care of yourself and leave this behind you or it will continue to destroy you. Believe me, you're way better off without a father than one like him.

21. This poor kid. May he be healed. Most folks want to believe that their parents truly love them no matter the evil acts they committed on their children. The reality is that there are those incapable of love, empathy, compassion and the things that most others are capable of. They have minds alien to us.
