Unsolved: Beloved high school wrestling coach ambushed in his kitchen

Garth Rector was a handsome high school wrestling coach, recently separated from his wife, but wildly popular. Was Garth maybe just a little too popular for his own good?

Tragically Garth Rector walked into what he thought was his empty house with a bag of groceries in one hand, a soda in the other on March 21, 2008. Someone was waiting for him with a gun.

  1. I'm going with landlady's man. He never misses work ever except for that day? Also re: car speeding outta driveway, they're speeding in any case cause they just shot someone!

  2. The land lady lived 200 ft away didn’t hear the gun shots or see a car bs! She’s probably very pretty and connected very closely to the community. The person had to know to know his schedule. Even possibly his wife he was trying to get her back but she knew he was seeing other women. Too many suspects. My dad is also a handsome guy I tell him all the time to be careful w some of the women but big muscle having men can’t imagine a woman trying to kill him. It doesn’t matter if he was cheating w married women he should of not lost his life like this. His family and him need justice to be done.

  3. Sadly I would say he was killed over a personal issue based on the details of the violent crime of murder. Based on his experience as a wrestler I would guess the person never gave him a chance to fight back shooting him as soon as he entered the home.

  4. This was personal. No way a random robbery. Photo with his body shows a big bowl on the floor, he has a dog or more. They showed him with a white dog at the end. That's a big dog, someone felt too comfortable there.

  5. LITERALY just thinking that shot him cuz they knew dam well there wasn’t any way for them to get past him to get out bro would of got to tossing them with those wresting skills

  6. When they falsely pin crimes on people, even if I were innocent I wouldn’t take a polygraph either. They’re desperate to find a criminal and may just pin it on you with circumstantial evidence even if you were innocent. That’s a big NO on a polygraph.

  7. He obviously had a dog, evidenced by the bowl of water by his body…and the pic of him with a dog. Looked like my dog. I truly feel sorry for the innocent animal victims of crime. I'm sorry for Garth and his family as well, but I believe his actions may have caused his murder. But can someone please tell me what happened to his dog?

  8. This sounds like a jealous woman he was dating or perhaps one of those womans BF or husband, who perhaps wanted him out of the picture. He's a handsome man and that can make a jilted lover or ex furiously jealous. 😞 At least his daughter got to have that special moment with her dad.
