28. I'm not saying that the guy that left the burning cigarette is innocent but he could be. What if the boyfriend picked up a cigarette from a random stranger who threw it outside wore gloves and lit the cigarette and left it to throw everyone off his trail. Not enough details with this one. Did you get their phone records? Do they know each other. Did you look at security tapes to see if he real bought pizza like he said he did? I think its the boyfriend.

29. For the sake of argument, let's say, what if that cigarette was implanted? Then the shape of the ash will be different. A smoked and left alone cigarette will have a conical ash, where as an implanted and re-lit cigarette will leave a cylindrical ash.
    While smoking a cigarette, air rushes in faster through the periphery of the cigarette than the centre, making the periphery to burn faster and leave a conical ash. While a cigarette lit and not inhaled, burns in-toto and leave a cylindrical ash.
    This again puts the individual at the location of the crime, not exactly at the scene of crime.
