In November of last year I posted a video showing a West Virginia judge flipping out at a traffic stop in Moorefield, West Virginia. In response to a stop he admitted was justified, he nevertheless pulled rank on a young police officer, immediately identifying himself as a judge, getting his supervisor on the phone, and later trying to get him fired, including threatening judicial retaliation against that department.
Since Judge Williams contested the matter, as he’s entitled to do, on June 14 a contested hearing was held before West Virginia’s Judicial Hearing Board over the course of three days. On September 19, the Judicial Hearing Board held a meeting to discuss the evidence presented, and on September 22, they issued an order finding that numerous judicial ethics rules were violated and recommending specific discipline to the West Virginia Supreme Court.

I'm curious if there are more recent updates on this man. Given the behaviors at the traffic stop and phone calls and the walmart incidents, I think there is something else going on. He reminds me of some outbursts of my dad, who had dementia. Given this man's position, he could be suffering from dementia and not diagnosed and nobody says anything because he 'is a tyrant" more and more… because he has dementia.
Impeach the judge.
Its his character that is in question so I believe that he should have been impeached or put on judicial probation so that a next time situation occurs he can be kicked to the curb!

I think we should give the judge a break,he clearly isn't good at being a jerk, after all he exposed himself multiple times as a jerk .
Most tyrants are good at getting someone else to do their dirty work to avoid blowback, he clearly needs some time off to relax and make a couple adjustments.

UPDATE: punishment, he gets a 1 yr suspension from the bench, and a 6 month suspension of paycheque; he shd also undergo a psych evaluation, as his missteps in this and other events are rather stark departure of normal behaviour for a judge methinks…

Why should he be allowed to rule over anything concerning anybody? He acts on rage and emotion. He has problems. Wonder how many people have been judged unfairly by him based on his feelings for that day.
You sort of mentioned that this case opens the door to past cases this judge has ruled on. That to me is the bombshell. What other type of influence pedaling has this judge used in past cases he ruled on? And how did those illegal rulings effect innocent people?

He should not be allowed to be in such a trusted and important position ever again. He was disgusting, the way he tried every way he could, to demean and diminish this officer, and get him in trouble with his boss, the Chief, and I read he even showed up at the DA or the Prosecutors house, at 10:00 p.m. because he was STILL having a hissy fit. Anyone who has this guy for a judge in future, can probably ask the judge to recuse himself, and say WHY! He's not honorable, nor is he trustworthy. He should be removed from the bench!
The news outlets sensationalized numerous details of the entire situation, of course. Judge did not yell at the police officer, and there was instigating behavior on the officer's part. The judge was aggravated and obnoxious. He, according to testimony in the written transcript, did not ask for any favor regarding the ticket, including getting out of it. He was best friends with the mayor's late husband. The theft was confirmed by Walmart and accidental as evidenced through video account of the incidents, and yet, the chief of police insisted to obtain and file anyway. The judge shakes because of legitimate medical issues. Poor choice of behavior, but really, it is not an uncommon agitation for someone getting pulled over. This man was held in the highest esteem for his legal competence and lifelong career working for the attorney general's office to help ensure the rights for vulnerable adults (dementia, IDD, etc.). What's crazy is all he probably had to do was say he's a judge. I doubt the officer would have even given him a ticket and none of this would have happened..But the judges ego is so huge he couldn't let it go
I think a 5 year suspension along with a verbal, in person apology to the officer should be the bare minimum. People that abuse their power should arguably be punished worse than a similar crime committed by your average Joe as they violated the public’s trust and undermine the system they swear to uphold.
The fact that this dirtbag judge is stealing from Walmart is a very strong indication that he's on drugs.

I never get tired of learning through this channel. Since the advent of cell phones and body cameras, the ability to capture misconduct by public officials has risen exponentially. As long as fair treatment is imposed on these officials, in the same manner as someone like myself would be treated (i.e., appropriate punishment), then those in public office will hopefully be less likely to overstep their bounds. I know, I know, Utopia doesn't exist, but one can dream.
