“Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed heads to trial this week for two counts of involuntary manslaughter. Prosecutors believe she violated safety standards on a New Mexico movie set which led to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The young mom was hit by a live bullet — instead of a blank — from a prop gun that was fired by actor Alec Baldwin. If convicted, Gutierrez faces up to three years in prison.

  1. The LAST PERSON handling the gun, pointing the gun and pulling the trigger IS THE ONE SOLEY RESPONSIBLE for ANYBODY INJURED OR KILLED. IN THIS CASE THAT INDIVIDUAL IS ALec Baldwin ALONE. And I do NOT give a flying fig, AT ALL, with ANY of you who STUPIDLY disagree AND/OR ARE 100% IGNORANT of Gun Safety. Alec Baldwin IS THE ONLY INDIVIDUAL GUILTY OF THE CRIME OF KILLING THAT WOMAN.

  2. On October 12, 1984, the cast and crew of Cover Up were filming the seventh episode of the series, "Golden Opportunity", on Stage 18 of the 20th Century Fox lot. One of the scenes filmed that day called for Hexum's character to load cartridges into a .44 Magnum handgun, so he was provided with a functional gun and blanks. When the scene did not play as the director wanted it to in the master shot, there was a delay in filming. Hexum became restless and impatient during the delay and began playing around to lighten the mood. He had unloaded all but one (blank) round, spun it, and—simulating Russian roulette—he put the revolver to his right temple and pulled the trigger, unaware of the danger.

  3. Late to this I know buy Why are they still talking about ammunition at this point…we get it already, focus on who bought the live ammunition to set without checking 🙈🙈🙈

  4. Bottom line, it doesn’t matter if there were 1 or 5 or 20 live rounds in the armorer’s cart. If Hannah would have been checking and re-checking the ammo she was loading into the guns, this tragedy would have never happened. If she had secured the guns, ammo and cart, no one would have had a chance to “sabotage “ the weapons. She did not take her responsibilities serious. No matter how busy the day was, no matter how many other duties she was engaged in, her number one priority was to make sure the guns she loaded were safe. Everyone on that set’s life was depending on her taking her responsibility serious. Being 100% positive that the rounds in those weapons were 100% safely loaded. Period!

  5. Sounds like hannah super entitled arguing with people and calling sarah a c$%#. At my first job I was thanking my lucky stars.

  6. Is anyone else wondering what will happen to the production of 'RUST'?
Obviously it's been shelved since the shooting incident but there was a lot of time and money invested in it.
Is this now the end for the film?
Would Baldwin and Souza sell the rights to it and another production company start it afresh?
Or is there any possibility of it continuing once the trial is complete and presuming Baldwin isn't incarcerated. Would it filming just take up where it left off? Is the movie set still sat the in NM gathering dust?

  7. Under the supervision and responsibility of Alec Baldwin, who lied about pulling the trigger of the firearm he held, a team member (the armorer)goes to trial first. So the judicial system manipulates the real guilt of Alec Baldwin by inferring that the death was someone else's fault. Let me see—grab a weapon, point it at a target, function the weapon and act surprised that you actually killed someone. Next run off crying because you too late realize the consequences of your actions. Next try to shirk your responsibilities. Not gonna cut it.

  8. So how is this not murder ? Sounds like someone wanted someone shot by “accident”…(because it’s fun and it’s the wild Wild West here on set.) Must of came from one or all of the Armor crew, they have a supplier and they verify the bullets. If no live bullets no one gets shot.

  9. So many things here: Alec Baldwin. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know.
HOWEVER, someone had to bring in a live round.
    Why?
But the thing that bothers me the most?
Somebody filmed the paramedics working on Ms. Hutchins, when it's obvious that she is no longer breathing.
    That's deplorable.
That might also be the person you start questioning a little harder.

  10. 4:49:45 continued cross examination of witness Seth Kenney (PDQ arms﹠props) Hannah should take responsibility for her actions like first assistant director Dave Hall did.

  11. 2:47:58 cross examination of Seth Kenney (PDQ props﹠arms) —in the lead up to cross it is evident Gutierrez admits via text she brought the live ammo on set. PDQ doesn’t stock of live ammunition﹠so it’s nonsensical to shift blame, I don’t particularly care for this guy either but facts are facts

  12. 10k 💰 to photoshop a few pictures, most of which are visually illegible and then chat about how crap they are for 20 min. I’m in the wrong business 🤷‍♂️

  13. As a former armory supervisor, I cringe every time I see this girl and how unprofessional she looked and acted. Hannah dressed slovenly for her job and it just showed me how she didn't take the job very seriously. The mess on her cart is just another example of this. She was under qualified for the job, but her price was probably right for a lower budget movie. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

  14. At the end of the day….. Hannah was careless…. Sloppy….. Unprofessional…. And a drug user.
She is going down with manslaughter.

  15. This judge is terrible. She can't control the courtroom so now we can't hear anything about the objections.

  16. Seth Kenney is evasive and, in my opinion, there is only one reason for that. I am 99% sure that the live ammo came onto the set through him. ATF needs to be looking at his licensure.
