“Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed heads to trial this week for two counts of involuntary manslaughter. Prosecutors believe she violated safety standards on a New Mexico movie set which led to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The young mom was hit by a live bullet — instead of a blank — from a prop gun that was fired by actor Alec Baldwin. If convicted, Gutierrez faces up to three years in prison.

  1. Don`t the PDs have any budget for at least a bit competent audio engineer for their interrogation rooms? I mean, that is rediculous, how bad the audio is for such an important peace of investigation and truthfinding in court.

  2. So they never lock the prop truck….the one that held all the ammo. But don’t worry, the guns were locked in the safe. 🤦🏻‍♀️

  3. Watching HGR interview at the police station shows me AB was given preferential treatment during his initial interview. Why is that …. esp since he shot HH? Shouldn't the interview have stopped after she asked for an attorney TWICE.

  4. This death was in my opinion the result of inappropriate actions by many involved people. It started with the negligance of the persons who are responsible for weapon safety and procedures and ends with Mr. Baldwin handling the weapon in an unsafe manner.
So I think Hannah Gutierrez Reed will go to jail for some months and Baldwin will receive monetary fines and a probation sentence.

  5. She has been without emotion the whole time, but ME directl exam is getting to her .She is in destress for sure.

  6. I’m sure this girl didn’t intentionally cause harm, but ~ I’m sorry, I wouldn’t trust her to properly complete my instacart order! She’s very immature for her age and seems to be the ultimate aloof, absolutely oblivious example of her obliviously entitled generation. Bless her heart. 😜😳

  7. It blows my mind how unconcerned she is about safety, locking up the weapons and ammunition, giving out codes to people without verifying if that’s ok, etc…..
I mean even after the shooting, during the interview with police, it’s like she’s having a chill conversation with friends!
    I just don’t get it?!? 🥴😳🤔
She is beyond irritating and although I absolutely hold her responsible for what happened, I also hold Alec Baldwin/Production accountable because when you think about the caliber of actor he is and at the end of the day, this is who he finds to be qualified enough to handle all weapons on the set, alwhile helping with props! 😤

  8. I'm very uncomfortable with the interviews being presented to the jury.

The first video where she is clearly being detianed and not free to go, the police didn't give her a miranda warning.

Then in the second interview, they played the parts of the interview before she was mirandized, and while she was contemplating seeking legal advice.

I don't think anything should be admissable until the moment she either declines access to a lawyer, or after she's had time to talk to a lawyer.

Do not talk to the cops. Don't talk in the presence of cops. If you want a lawyer don't say "i kinda want to talk to a lawyer".

Exercise your rights, and exercise them firmly.

  9. 7:57:10 says it all about her her as a person… "And I definitely wouldn't work on weekends. Why would I do that? I want to be [at work] at least as possible.". Sounds like she didn't enjoy her work and didn't put my pride or too much effort into it.

  10. The EMS guys inserted the breathing tube into her esophagus? And the hospital too? WOW. She may have survived if she had better medical treatment. He family need to sue the EMS and hospital.

  11. From testimony given so far, Hanah will likely do some time. Alex may get off of doing prison time (likely) but him and other executive produces will likely be held accountable in a civil trial for their lack of actions in keeping the set safe and will likely result in a large civil judgement paid to the person injured and the family of the poor woman killed.
