WATCH LIVE: Citizen’s Arrest Turned Deadly – GA v Hannah Payne – Day Two – Everything Law and Order Blog

In 2019, Hannah Payne witnessed a hit-and-run accident. She called 911 to report the crash — but instead of following instructions from dispatchers — she allegedly followed one of the drivers involved in the crash, Kenneth Herring, and demanded he return to the scene. Payne then allegedly fatally shot the man as he sat in the driver’s seat of his car. The 25-year-old is charged with malice murder, two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

  1. In many states it is legal to carry a firearm with, or in some cases, without a permit and I support that right. Problem is, too many people believe that the right to carry a firearm gives them authority. It does not! A person has the right to use to use deadly force only to prevent someone from attempting to cause death or great bodily injury to them. Ms. Payne was never in any danger – except from her reckless driving.

  2. The behavior of this girl is, insane. She shot this man in cold blood over a power trip. On a side bar: Both the defense and prosecutors attitudes are so inappropriate- on both sides! A man lost his life!! Over nothing! All while having a medical emergency. The people that are a part of this trial are acting like a bunch of five-year-olds! Rolling their eyes at each other, making weird faces……Totally bizarre! I would expect more professionalism! 🤦🏽‍♀️ OMG.

  3. Her screaming : Get out of the car !!
Was bc she thought he would get scared of her and that he would do what she told him.
I bet she would said him that he have to sit somewhere and wait.
So than when the cop’s would came she would be a Hero !!

And everyone would be talking about her, even on the news. And the sheriff would ask her if she want to join to the police !!!

That’s it what she wanted to happen !!!!

And her lawyer looks like he have no problem with lying to the judge.
I don’t say he did I’m just saying he looks like that.
And if your lawyer looks like that than you do too.
I bet that she would get lesser sentence if she would have another attorney.

  4. I honestly feel that this defense attorney is hurting his client with his badgering these GOOD witnesses. I understand its his job to discredit them, but he has gone overboard.
It will not play well with the jury.

  5. In Today’s Entry of “The Defendant Dresses Like her Favorite Sesame Street Character”, we have Hannah Payne appearing as Big Bird. She’s so big she towers over everyone in the front of the courtroom. I bet she wishes she could flap those tharms (thigh arms) and go far, far away from the courtroom where she wouldn’t have to pay for her actions. Like Big Bird, her and her lawyer have some big brain schemes up their sleeves to invent reasonable doubt where there is none. Nothing that she did was reasonable and you don’t get to chase down a stranger like the last Popeye’s hot chicken sandwich, take them out and then have everyone just be on your side and not give you any consequences. She’s as flighty as Big Bird but this jailhouse bird won’t be flying anywhere for the rest of her life 😂

  6. The defense attorney trying make the young lady look unreliable is going about it the wrong way. Jurors aren't supposed to make judgements based on the defense attorney but they do. He needs to gently do the cross regardless of his frustration level. He didnt make her testimony seem untrustworthy. He made her look like a sweet girl that needs rescuing from the big bad wolf. He looked like a bully. Many people will be thinking things like, "you know what she means" and thus, they'll be putting pieces together that may not exist. To be clear – That's NOT ok. But again, jurors are only human. What IS & what SHOULD Be will ALWAYS be different.

    "I turned around to look"
"I checked through my rear view mirror"

She's so young. This sitch would be stressful for anyone with decades more life experience. That she didn't think abt using back side of paper, that she assumed to only write most important details that would fit in space makes sense, that she lost/dmgd the recording she made for herself sounds fairly normal.

Defense attorney did much better with the second woman. He had moments of bad attitude but seemed to correct course quickly enough. The details she does remember vs the things she doesn't remember are normal. It makes sense but most people listening to her testimony will think her memory faulty even if they've had stressful incidents that led to some detailed accurate memory with certain things and completely wrong memory with another part and everything in between. It's common. Funnily enough when looking back, we'll create more faulty memories points bc we often forget how much we need to be corrected the last time we shared the event memory

  7. Does anybody else feel the defense attorney is deliberately repeating the witness answers wrongly multiple timea to tey to confuse the jury and just overall muddy the testimony? I feel almost like hes using police interrogation tactics like keep asking the same question over and over to try to get the person to slip up.

  8. Were the illegally removed fingernails ever discovered by officers? And, on what trial day? I thought this was quite suspicious and she never brought it to the attention of the investigators to offer as evidence.

  9. Guys tbh I dislike the defense lawyer too but I feel like he did what he because he already know he wasn’t going to win. I think he was aiming for a strategy that was going to at least give her less sentence time but instead it backfired

  10. Hearing all the witnesses describe how this poor man looked so confused and scared while this creature physically and verbally attacked him is just heartbreaking. This egomaniac is gonna learn a hard lesson about who's really tough when she gets to her new home.

  11. I highly dislike this defense attorney yet love him for solidifying tha nail….mind you..all these witnesses at tha end didn't even know how this all started…and he's trying ta hammer them…smdh…thankh you Universe and Ancestors ❤❤❤❤😮😮😮😮😮🎉🎉🎉🎉😢😢😢

  12. I recalled someone sayin she called her parents at some point…You would think that they'd say…dint say nothin…Mr. Tuckers on hiz way…but Miss smarter than though said nopeee…imma build my case untillll…SILLY WABBIT…THANKH YOU ANCESTORS FOR PUTTING THESE BEAUTIFUL BEINGS IN THA PATH OF UNJUST BEHAVIOR 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

  13. When I lived in the south statements like" I'm fixen to carry my son to town" were common, it didn't mean I was literally going to carry him. Just as "jumped into his window "didn't mean she literally jumped completely into a car. Part of her body was in his car (video)thus violating his space.

  14. I thought that the this was great she thought that she was billy bad butt because she had a gun, found out you can't take the law into your hands, should have left it to the police and listen to the 911 and left ,
