WATCH LIVE: Gwyneth Paltrow Ski Crash Trial — Sanderson v. Paltrow — Day Five

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is set to face off with a retired doctor in a civil trial starting March 21 over a ski crash in February 2016. Plaintiff Terry Sanderson alleges the famed actress’ skiing was “out of control” when the two collided at Deer Valley Resort seven years ago. Paltrow fired back, countersuing Sanderson for one dollar, claiming his recollection of events was incorrect and that he crashed into her. Damage amount: A judge rejected Sanderson’s initial lawsuit against Paltrow for damages in excess of $3.1 million, alleging that the incident qualified as a hit-and-run. In his updated complaint, Sanderson claims Paltrow was reckless in causing his injuries and is now asking “for more than $300,000.” In an amended filing, the plaintiff requested in excess of $300,000 but in openings, reiterated the claim for $3 million.

  1. Mr. Sanderson has quite the selective memory. Having said that, I do believe that Mr. Sanderson injured his head but given his personality (extroverted, self-centered, overly sensitive to criticism [e.g. narcissistic]) he downplayed his injuries out of misplaced pride and probably flirted with Ms. Smith (poor thing) for two hours straight while waiting for the car to pick him up. In terms of fault it’s my opinion that Mr. Ramon was not a credible witness in contrast to both Ms. Paltrow and Mr. Christiansen, and I find Ms. Paltrow’s description of the collision more plausible.

  2. Having to cut Terry off and treat him like a child (for example early in his testimony the way his lawyer cut him off and asked him "Terry. How did you get up?") It seemed super transparent. I wouldn't doubt the attorneys did that on purpose to paint the picture that his brain is so addled he can't even think straight and they have to hold his hand through this to keep him on track. It just seems inauthentic and rehearsed.

  3. Didn’t they say he had a stroke before this? If so, I’d say that’s probably the cause for the personality and behavior changes. It happened to my father in law. A lot of the things his daughters testified to, like yelling at the kid over a van door, just like my FIL. Very argumentative over tiny things, focusing on odd unimportant details.. my kids can’t stand him because he’s so difficult to be around. I’d bet it’s the stroke, not the ski accident, for those issues.

  4. Caught in another lie! First he says Eric skiec away and another guy jerked him up and he also skied away!
Then, he slipped and said that Eric DID help him up!!! Unreal.
    Terry Tells Tall Tales.

  5. He does the same thing every time he lies, looks down and up while his brows do that weird thing while he shakes his head. He does that only while talking to defence while digging himself into a deeper hole.

  6. Per the Sanderson lawyer with the ski instructor, there was a lot of "pounding the table". Like a 1st year law student in a mock trial. Lots of "table pounding" by these lawyers ! Geez

  7. Wow, the ski resort had the first responder fill out an additional report weeks later so that they had all the details to cover their tracks later and protect their celebrity clientele. Interesting.

  8. I don't know, ya'll. Everyone in the comments is saying this guy is 100% credible just because he's a professional and he can offer a lot of technical descriptions- I can see all of these people fabricating an airtight eye witness account just to retain their celebrity clientele base, whether not anything happened the way Terry said it did. The celebrity has ALL of the power and resources in a case like this, regardless of the overall witnesses and investigations, or the fact that everyone is supposed to be "equal under the law"- it's frankly just not the case in reality. Also, to be as wealthy as Gwyneth and to condemn a regular citizen, whether he's a creep or whatever else, to being forced to pay her attorney's fees with the last decade or so of his damaged life when he clearly suffers from real dysfunctions that interfere with his life and abilities… it just grosses me out. Some magnanimity would be classy from the millionaires of this world. Maybe I just don't trust people at all anymore, because I know what medical gaslighting is like, and what it's like when people you expect to help you just treat you dismissively or like actual trash, how completely clueless the average person is about what it's like to live with chronic illness.

  9. I think Mr Sanderson was not present in court for the first few days was not because he’s sensitive to criticism, but more because he cannot handle the truth. Judging by the way he can’t answer simple questions and continually goes off on rants that are completely unrelated to the original topic, my guess is that he’s used this tactic for many years to lie to himself and try and create a diversion for those around him. Unfortunately that doesn’t work in a court of law. I’m no GP fan but I do think she’s telling the truth here and I think she needs to counter sue to cover the cost of her lawyer fees!

  10. Small D energy. He’s wearing a wedding ring. He’s got a new victim?? Yuck! I feel so sorry for her. He probably talks her ear off every day about HIMSELF & his narcissistic delusions.

  11. Ski instructor sucks. If he can’t tell an older man is in pain he had four broken ribs he didn’t make that up, what good is he. He was more concerned with Paltrow

  12. WTF am I watching?! 😮😂
How is Terry and Ramon have all of this money to travel the way they do and Terry pulling all these girls, Ramon being obsessed with Gwyneth.. what if Gwyneth was right? What if those pervs planned this whole thing and that is why they got so triggered by Gwyneth leaving and letting the ski instructor handle it!
    THEY ARE STRAIGHT HUSTLERS! 😂

  13. Produce an actual ticket from this exact ski resort from that exact time period and then discuss what it actually states on the back I can’t believe the judge It’s allowing one of the ski instructors from that ski resort to recite from memory what was allegedly printed on the back of the ticket from seven years ago what universe is this?

  14. You can just tell by GP’s face when she stares down terry that she is daring him to look over at her so she can evil eye him because he’s lying!!!! He is such a liar, varying answers all over the place. So we’re you knocked out or not??? And the way he’s getting mad when on the stand being redirected…. You can just tell he’s getting caught up and mad about it

  15. I did get hurt fell from 3feet hit the ground on my right side on pavement broke 5 ribs, collar bone, rib punctured lung, lung started collapsing, my son saw it happen and he says I het my head and blacked out. I was talking to people who came to help me. To this day I have no recollection of what happened because of a concussion. I don't remember being put in the ambulance, transferred to trauma hawk flown to hospital. My memory of the event has never returned 4 years later I could not tell you anything until I woke up in the hospital bed hours later and I had to be told what happened. I was 56 at the time and I cannot give you any details. This guy is full of Crap.

  16. Judge Judy should hear this case, it would be ruled on in 10 mins or even less..'it was an accident, not an on purpose…'fine them both a dollar'…as for the lawyers fine them for wasting time..what a farce!!

  17. Is it just my video or is the first 1.5 hours (that's as far as I've gotten so far) all jumpy crackling and skipping? Its very hard to watch and hear what they're saying. Just wondering if the video is garbage or if my connection somehow right now is garbage cuz the other videos that I just watched were fine.

  18. Oh boy, the young lawyer from the plaintiff’s side is up again. I sincerely hope he isn’t going to clear his throat after each question he asks again. That tic was annoying the last time he questioned a witness.

  19. They obviously assumed GP wouldn’t bother to defend herself to these lengths and would just pay them. It’s exceedingly clear that this 🤡 crashed into GP – probably intentionally because he knew who she was – and decided to sue her thinking it would be an easy and quick way to cash in. Thankfully GP is willing to hold out for the truth.

  20. Oh my…pay close attention to Kristen's question to Terry regarding the email subject "I'm famous but at what cost?" Terry's rehearsed answer referred strictly to whether there must be a Go Pro video. Oopsies Terry. 😆 🤣 😂

  21. This witness Steve Graff keeps looking at GP for her approval what's up with that? One thing is for sure unless your famous you should not go skiing at Deer Valley Resort they only stick up for them and looks like coverup for them or at least write up reports that reflect in their favor. Only going on what's being presented.

  22. Is it really farfetched to think that Ramon and Sanderson planned this before the crash, as Sanderson recognized Paltrow immediately, although she had all her ski gear on, and he did mention during trial that he knows a woman that worked at the resort that he had discussed Paltrow being there with?
